Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club

Played it a few times, and will do so again when in the area. Always in top notch condition with smooth fast running greens. Great views of the Castle ruins and the Northumberland coastline. Although our round today ground to a halt on the back nine as we were a two ball I still gave 5* as this is not the clubs fault. P

Thoroughly enjoyed playing the course, great condition and the weather was on side.

Service in the club house was friendly and food was fresh and good value for money.

Looking forward to playing again soon.

Playing Dunstanburgh Castle GC just gets better each time. The course is a good test of golf in a magnificent setting. All holes were presented superbly. Always a treat!

Calm today but still challenging with the undulations and tough rough

Enjoyed playing on the course but pace was a bit slow. Unfortunately the bar/kitchen closed as soon as we came to the 19th...this was 5pm.

Course was in very good condition. Plenty of challenge provided by prevailing winds. Wonderful setting. Will definitely visit again.

Nice course with great coastal setting. Greens excellent. Rough very deep and would speed up play if cut back. Foggy when we played but otherwise would be great views. Very good value for money. Nice layout,

Thoroughly enjoyed the round. Never played it before so got into trouble on quite a few holes. Lack of rain meant Some Fairways were very dry with sparse grass and hard ground causing bad bounces into trouble.

Greens were superb. Fabulous views of the castle.

One of my favourite courses. Another great day out in challenging conditions due to the wind.

The month of May 2021 may not be remembered fondly in the long term memory of many, the weather has been dismal and Patrick Bamford has just been left out of the Euro’s squad!

That being said, the condition of this course is nothing less than superb! Having played many of the courses around Leeds in recent weeks, it took me a good while get used to the firm greens, sending most of my approach shots bouncing over the back on the front 9. The greens really were superb, well rolled, strategically undulating, fast and consistent from 1-18.

The course layout is fairly simple, the front 9 doesn’t offer much scenery, but the back 9 opens up to the sea and offers some great views of the castle as you play towards it. It’s a fairly short course, predominantly par 4s, but with undulating fairways the holes played longer than the card would suggest... especially into the North Sea wind.

For the money, the condition is superb. If I was looking to pick fault the course layout could be a bit more imaginative, but I really do think I’m clutching at straws... I’ll be back next summer without a doubt.
