First time playing
Played the Aylesford course, great course, some.lovely holes. Best greens I've ever played on
Bang on
Greens are the hardest part , even after a massive rain storm they were like putting on tarmac !. Great condition but very quick
Underwhelming
So we played the aylesford course, a course which seems to let anyone of any level play, people with crew neck t shirts, people who wouldn’t know what a ‘pitch marks’ was if they got one in the face. We had members who admitted to not booking just wonder on our tee time. Bunkers look lush but no actual sand in them, just dense hard grit. Tee boxes unrolled, greens don’t have front / middle / back flags, half way house is awful, a vending machine that will charge you £1.50 for a tunnocks! Staff in the pro shops were decent, to be fair and the practice facilities are good. If you’re going to play, pay a little more and play the Arden. Unless you’re a moron that shouldn’t be in the course, then I guess the aylesford is for you.
Top quality!
Love this course., well maintained, greens are in excellent condition.
Good layout, only suggestion I would make is to have a course planner on the back of the score card.
Nice forgiving course
Great track with nice greens that isn’t too difficult but enough to get your attention. Worth a round for a 90 to 100 golfer
Good course but slow
Nice course. Due to the very reasonable price I think many hackers play there so pace can get very slow. No sign of any marshals looking after pace of play. Would be excellent value if pace was better. But I would prefer to pay extra and play somewhere with better pace. Hopefully Arden will be better paced.
A good test
Great test for all abilities course in great condition greens were a bit slow and play was very slow due to four ball in front took us 4 hours and 20 minutes but still had a great day will definitely play again and staff are very friendly
Great Course for the Money
Played a round yesterday at the Forest of Arden and for the money you cannot fault it.
Went out at 9am and had a 2 ball in front of us - so by the 3rd hole we didn't see them again really all round. So no slow play.
The course was in really good condition apart from the occasional Ground under repair but you can cope with that.
3 of the 4 golfers had played the course before but the 1st timer couldn't believe the cost compared to other local course around Birmingham. He was very impressed.
Great course
First time I have played here and will definitely be going back. The course is in great condition some tricky holes if you go off the fairway. Pace of play was great .
Well maintained / good security
Very well maintained course especially for a sister course with consistent greens. Halfway facility toilet / vending machine. Polite greeting from club house & starter Marshall. Played as a x2 ball 4hr 10min round as a slowish x4 ball in front of us (not sure what was in front of them). Security staff at the entry / exit barrier very reassuring. Plenty of parking. A little expensive £35 compared to similar courses within a 10 mile radius. I would play here again.

Feels a little municipal
Greens and tees were well maintained and a team of groundsmen were sprucing up the bunkers but the rough and grass near tees/back of greens felt like an agricultural field badly mowed. They need to hollow tine and build up the surface and then mow more regularly. But it’s not so expensive so maybe that’s what you can expect for your money. Pay double the money and play on the main course.
Tricky
Two of us played and our handicap is 28. The course was in good condition but the grass on the side of the fairways was thick. If you didn’t hit the fairway you were in trouble and more often than not even if we’d seen were our ball went we couldn’t find it! Personally I think you need to be playing off 20 or less to play the course.we would play again but I think we need to improve before we do😁
This is a great course and good value
Played this course for the second time. This is an excellent set up with two great courses, friendly staff and a good test of golf. Already looking forward to playing again in the near future.
