Glossop & District Golf Club

Given the time of year and the weather, the course was is good condition and I can’t speak highly enough of the staff.

Greeted early doors by a very friendly greenkeeper who was conducting the course inspection and he was more than happy to tell us about the course and it’s layout, very nice fella!

The layout can be confusing for a first time player as there is some shared greens but it still feels like playing a full 18. The views are fantastic. All the members we came across were mega friendly and more than happy to help guide us round.

Food after the round was top notch and very reasonably priced, lovely clubhouse staff and even the pro was a nice fella, happy chatting away to us about the origins of Bettarnardi putters (I’m a Golf Geek so happy to listen).

Couldn’t ask for more given the £25 green fee, my only criticisms are the weather (of no fault the courses and it’s January on the cusp of the Peak District) I thought the course was in great condition considering. The only blip would be some signage up for directing visitors around the course as we got a little confused.

Very much looking forward to coming back and playing in the summer months!

The worst golf experience I think I have ever come across… we arrived at 12:20 as the lady at the pro shop was not working all day… we were happy to wait for a 1:42 slot as there was a tournament on to get on the course to have a member screaming at us telling us he’s a member and we should not be here…. I am appalled by attitude and arrogance and behavior… you would think that they would encourage your get players to play …. I won’t be going back here any time soon…. Asked for a refund - questionable as to whether we we ever see that money again…. I do not hold this golf club in high regard…. I have used golf now and used probably 90% of the courses in the region…. I would hands down recommend any course other than this one…. I hope that member gets binned because of his behavior as single handily this post will cost you more than his annual fee….!

Played Glossop a few times, cannot help but like this course. Although it is basically an extended 9 hole course it doesn't feel like it. With different Tee boxes and extra greens it really is interesting.

I will certainly play here again.

Great short course with great views of surrounding Peak District. Friendly staff and well kept fairways and greens. . Would definitely play again. Only negative areas slightly confusing layout but didn’t detract from overall impression

Decent course however had tee time at 11:15 and ended up being pushed to the 5th hole to start at 11:40 which was annoying. However lovely staff great food

Drove over from Sheffield to play and were really impressed - course in excellent condition, stunning views, great mix of some tricky and some scenic holes, and a great pint and snack after. The tee shot on the 16th is especially good.

The course is in a great setting and is a quirky course but there is a considerable amount of criss-crossing and the greens were in a shocking condition
