Great improvements
Have not played this course since last year and could see the improvements, was very quiet which is not a complaint, buggy was easy to access and very clean.
Can see the improvements they’ve made - little more to go but a definite improvement on last time I played. Look forward to returning soon!
Ian
Had heard some negative reviews but the course was fine and value for money.
Big difference
Played about 3 years ago and said I would never go back it was that bad , then played with a member of this golf club at a different venue and he was telling me how good grange was getting so I thought I’d give it another chance . And am I glad I did the greens are coming along fantasticly the fairways are so good and tee boxers ( the bunkers are really bad but they’ve not got round to them yet ) the facilities are excellent and the staff even better, I will definitely be playing this golf course more often 🏌️♂️⛳️
Better than expecting by far!
Very good course. Nice fairways. Needs improvement on tee boxes and greens!
Friendly game at Grange
There has been some improvement since we last played but the bunkers were very poor need more sand and edges cutting neatly, paths between holes needed some filling in. Path to the office has some large gaps and my ankle slipped in one that’s 3” wide. Tees also need some work to improve them. Greens were ok but needed cutting a bit tighter for me.
Challenging course
Very well looked after course with good fairways and fast greens.
Challenging holes that have to be thought about.
Amenities are good and the carts are reasonably priced.
Staff are very friendly and happy to help with anything, this was the first tee time on this course but it will definitely not be the last.
Terrible condition
Like playing a car park, greens are bobbly, fairways terrible and the rough is a joke, losing balls on fairway as grass is that long. Genuinely worst corse I’ve played this year. Wouldn’t waste you time, I’m a member elsewhere and played as a guest with friend, shouldn’t have bothered.
£30 a round I feel robbed
The course needs some serious work, for £30 a round as well I feel robbed, greens were horrendous, there was on point lining up a putt because they were that bobbly the ball went where it wanted, the bunkers were like concrete, fairways were patchy and were more mud than grass you were struggling to get a decent lie. It says they have a putting green it’s an astroturf bit to the side of the club house, on a positive the best bit was the staff at the clubhouse extremely friendly and happy to help. overall it was a terrible experience and don’t think I’ll be back any time soon
Fab course that’s only going to get better.
New ownership and fantastic new front of house staff and greenskeepers are really working hard to make this an excellent course again. Everyone knows the bunkers need sand and a bit of work but the course itself is in great condition and makes for a really enjoyable round of golf! For layout and variety of holes it’s one of my favourite local 18s for sure. A course on its way up. We played mid-week and pace of play was good.
A long way to go
After reading the reviews on GolfNow about how the course had drastically improved we decided to give it a go.
Appreciate there has been an input of cash to resurrect the course to its glory day however there is a very very long way to go.
The bunkers barely have any sand in the at all and 2 shots actually bounced out as if they’d hit a path.
I do hope they get it right as the course layout is great and challenging. Currently over priced for the condition of the course in my opinion.
Always has been a nice course to walk round and fairways and greens were quite good considering early in season.. But as advised by shop staff prior to playing, the bunkers are a work in progress and were in poor condition, either rock hard or full of grass/weeds/marked gur...Hopefully new owners can get them sorted asap and course back into the playing conditions it deserves.
much improved course
having been a member for some time now and seen this course at it's best and at it's worse gradually over the past 5 years I am please to say since new owners took over the improvement started to steadily improve the course but the last 8 months or so there has been big improvement in all aspects of the course and I can say that the state of the course now is so good for this time of year and if the improvements carries on like this it will be enjoyable to play this year again and hopefully it will be back to being one of the good golf course in the area, well done all the staff
First time back
Like everyone else stopped playing this course as it had gone down hill a lot and was quite rude to us last time we went in now pleased to say course is getting back to where it was there's still lots of work to do though but it is playable now
We paid 15 pounds on now golf and would gladly pay that again ,anymore and we'd probably go somewhere better but if keep round that price we'll definitely go back
Staff in shop really welcoming and friendly now
Fingers crossed it keeps going this way
Thanks for giving us another try and for the honest feedback! Great to hear you noticed the improvements and felt welcome in the shop. We know there’s still work to do, but we’re heading in the right direction – hope to see you again soon!
