Terrible condition
Like playing a car park, greens are bobbly, fairways terrible and the rough is a joke, losing balls on fairway as grass is that long. Genuinely worst corse I’ve played this year. Wouldn’t waste you time, I’m a member elsewhere and played as a guest with friend, shouldn’t have bothered.
£30 a round I feel robbed
The course needs some serious work, for £30 a round as well I feel robbed, greens were horrendous, there was on point lining up a putt because they were that bobbly the ball went where it wanted, the bunkers were like concrete, fairways were patchy and were more mud than grass you were struggling to get a decent lie. It says they have a putting green it’s an astroturf bit to the side of the club house, on a positive the best bit was the staff at the clubhouse extremely friendly and happy to help. overall it was a terrible experience and don’t think I’ll be back any time soon
Fab course that’s only going to get better.
New ownership and fantastic new front of house staff and greenskeepers are really working hard to make this an excellent course again. Everyone knows the bunkers need sand and a bit of work but the course itself is in great condition and makes for a really enjoyable round of golf! For layout and variety of holes it’s one of my favourite local 18s for sure. A course on its way up. We played mid-week and pace of play was good.
A long way to go
After reading the reviews on GolfNow about how the course had drastically improved we decided to give it a go.
Appreciate there has been an input of cash to resurrect the course to its glory day however there is a very very long way to go.
The bunkers barely have any sand in the at all and 2 shots actually bounced out as if they’d hit a path.
I do hope they get it right as the course layout is great and challenging. Currently over priced for the condition of the course in my opinion.
Always has been a nice course to walk round and fairways and greens were quite good considering early in season.. But as advised by shop staff prior to playing, the bunkers are a work in progress and were in poor condition, either rock hard or full of grass/weeds/marked gur...Hopefully new owners can get them sorted asap and course back into the playing conditions it deserves.
much improved course
having been a member for some time now and seen this course at it's best and at it's worse gradually over the past 5 years I am please to say since new owners took over the improvement started to steadily improve the course but the last 8 months or so there has been big improvement in all aspects of the course and I can say that the state of the course now is so good for this time of year and if the improvements carries on like this it will be enjoyable to play this year again and hopefully it will be back to being one of the good golf course in the area, well done all the staff
First time back
Like everyone else stopped playing this course as it had gone down hill a lot and was quite rude to us last time we went in now pleased to say course is getting back to where it was there's still lots of work to do though but it is playable now
We paid 15 pounds on now golf and would gladly pay that again ,anymore and we'd probably go somewhere better but if keep round that price we'll definitely go back
Staff in shop really welcoming and friendly now
Fingers crossed it keeps going this way
Impressive change
As someone who previously had a membership here and decided to stop playing half way through it, I can’t believe the difference in 12 months under the new ownership.
There’s still work to be done, in some areas, but the greens were great, the fairways were a lot less boggy even after last nights rain, the rough has been cut to a much more reasonable level so no lost balls at the edge of the fairway and all in all, I was extremely happy with the conditions and would recommend to give it another try!
I’ve played other courses locally that are in much worse condition at this time of year, signed back up to the flex membership as can imagine as it warms up it should be amazing

Thank you for the fantastic feedback! We're so glad to hear you're noticing the improvements and that the conditions have made such a difference. We're continuously working to make the course even better, and it’s great to know you’re happy with the changes. We look forward to welcoming you back on the course, and we’re excited to see you make the most of your Flexi Membership! ⛳️

Improving, interesting course
Grange Park is enormously improved over the last 12 months and provides a challenging interesting round of golf at a very reasonable price. Greens (March 2025) are in very good condition but work is still required on many bunkers. The course layout is excellent with holes that require thought rather than simply hit and hope. Be aware the course is hilly and does also challenge your fitness in places. Looking forward to seeing how the course improvements continue.
Grange park is on the up
Had a round couple of rounds (8/03/2025) & (9/03/2025) after not playing here for a while because the place had gone so far down hill with nothing but moss on the greens & uncut fairways. I received an email a few days ago saying it was under NEW MANAGMENT & the green keepers form another local golf course that closed because of flooding was now sorting this course out so i thought id give it a go to see if its changed & i must say they have & are doing a great job, the fairways are cut & play well, the greens are now grassed & run smooth with one or two showing signs of drainage work that can only be a good thing in the future. With one or two muddy areas on a minimal amount of fairways that is to be expected this time of year the overall feel of the Grange is now getting back to its once brilliant state & I'm looking forward to playing here again a lot more. This is one of my local courses & I'm very happy its being looked after again & i have a local course that I'm happy to pay & play. Keep up the good work new greenkeepers & groundsmen i cannot wait to play here in the upcoming summer months. I've already rebooked for another round tomorrow.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming and can clearly see they are making the effort to improve this course and it’s working. The course it’s self is the best condition it has been in and was lovely to play. Will certainly be back and would recommend.
The course has been subjective to quite a lot of negative reviews over the years and the staff here are certainly doing all the right things here to change them.

Thank you for the kind words! We're thrilled to hear you're enjoying the improvements and the friendly atmosphere. Improving
Better each time I come back. They’re taking far better care of the course. It had fallen into disrepair but has the potential to be a really good course. Boggy still in a few parts but generally fine most of the way around but not a surprise this time of the year. Isn’t cheap but is getting towards being worth it.
It’s getting better all the time, since the new investment
Not the best time of year to judge a course. However, since the new investors came in a lot of hard work has been carried out and it’s an ongoing process.
For me, Grange Park was always a bit of a treat, having first played the track when I was at school.
About 18 months ago, I took a walk across the course, because I saw the reviews on here. And in my opinion, I felt that most of those negative reviews were justified.
It was a crying shame, to see how the place had deteriorated.
Credit to those, who are turning this place around, let’s hope that before long, it’s restored to at least as great as what it was, not so long ago.
You can see the changes taking place, and we all just have to be patient and trust that this is going to carry on getting better and better.
I have just rejoined as a member, and I don’t spend my money on any old rubbish, so I think that speaks volumes, in respect of how I think this is all going to pan out in the not too distant future, if things continue to go in the direction that they have done in the past few months.
So at this time of the year, it is bound to be a tad more moist underfoot. Most places around here are going to be the same.
I would say, give it a whirl, maybe when there has been three or four days without significant rainfall for a fairer picture.
There has been a vast improvement in the state of the greens, yep the bunkers will have to be sorted, but that’s probably stating the chuffing obvious.
Please bear in mind it’s work in progress, get yourselves up there, and if you put everything into its true context, then you shouldn’t be disappointed!
Thanks for your hard work so far as you endeavour to restore Grange Park to at least its former glory.

Give it a chance!
Booked this round at relatively short notice and was concerned given the reviews from around 5-12 months ago. But, the more recent reviews were much more positive.
It's clear the club has gone through some troubles over the past few years, but things clearly seem to be improving.
The fairways were cut to a respectable length, and the rough was thick but manageable. Some of the greens could have been better - with a few looking like they're recovering from vehicle damage - with a few with really poor drainage.
Overall, we really enjoyed the round. It's great course for beginners and your 'average' golfer. I'll definitely be coming back when the weather improves.

Thank you for your honest and thoughtful review! We appreciate you giving The Grange a chance and are glad to hear you enjoyed your round. You're absolutely right—we’ve been working hard to improve the course, and it’s great to see those efforts being noticed. The course is now under new management, and we're committed to making continuous improvements. We’re confident things will only get better as the weather improves. Looking forward to welcoming you back for another round soon!

                   Thank you for your review.
The Grange
Seriously underrated course. Amazing layout.
Played this course for the first time and was apprehensive after reading the reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. The layout is fantastic, one of the best in the surrounding area. The condition was fer better than expected and especially for this time of year. Greenskeepers are doing an excellent job. Staff in the clubhouse were super friendly and welcoming with all the facilities you need. We play in and around Sheffield and will be back in better weather to play again. The Pete Cowen driving range is also 30 seconds away so that gives another option to warm up before playing. Would recommend this course to anyone. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a fantastic review! We're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the course and that it exceeded your expectations. Our greenskeepers work tirelessly to keep the course in great condition year-round, so they’ll really appreciate the shoutout! It’s also great to hear that our clubhouse team made you feel welcome. We look forward to seeing you again in better weather—hopefully, The Grange impresses you even more in prime conditions! Thanks again for your recommendation, and we’ll be ready to welcome you back soon!
