Good conditions, terrible mats.
Greens are very good for this time of year. Comparable to £25/30 courses. General course conditions are great.
Unfortunately it was off this mats this April. The mats are terrible and some of them just won't take a tee.
A good quick round of golf
Course in reasonable condition given the weather we have had , goog pace of play across the course
A shame it was wet
I’ve played here several times now,
But on this day the course should have been closed, after we had so much rain!
Standing water throughout the first 9 fairways , greens were still playable
I will go again as I know how well it plays but definitely not after a rainy day.
South Chesterfield GC
As ever, the course was excellently kept. The greens are particularly good. Mats were in use for teeing off, due to preserving main tees for spring, summer and autumn golf, but they did not detract from a very enjoyable round.
Sodden
Surprised course was open. Absolutely sodden. Lost 4 balls that plugged in the middle of the fairway. Ankle deep in water on most fairways. Bunkers like paddling pools. Saving grace greens in good condition. Would not play this course at this time of year again. Huge shame as a lovely summer course
Never got to play
Never got to play the course. Was closed 2 days before our booked tee time and when it did re-open it was carry only. The golfers in our party are unable to carry and it was too late to get a refund. So the golf club got £52 for absolutely nothing.
Hidden Gem
Fantastic pro shop and club house. Staff were very friendly. Struggled with the wet conditions but the greens were in great condition. Well looked after course. Absolute bargain, will definitely play again.
Course very wet from rain the previous day
Very quiet only 8 players out on course played a round in approx 3 hours.greens good for time of year and fairways very wet .teed up save fairways.enjoyed round at £8.00
Could not complain.
Great course recommend trying it out will be returning again
Great local course
Nice course tricky rough
Been playing here for years gets better each year
Would like few more little touches on tees to take course up a notch
Pleasant surprise
After all the heavy rain the day before the course stud up to it very well and the greens were very good shame about the bunkers most were water loged but a very good test of golf would recommend to all its worth it
Slow play
Very frustrated today being stuck behind three groups of four players, etiquette was none existant as we were a two ball. We were held up numerous times waiting for some one to let us through, it didn't happen. Spoilt a decent game
Slow play
Played this course for the last 2 weekends very slow play, 2 groups went after 9 holes & we were still waiting every hole, enjoyed the course nice layout, good facilities, will try again in the week
Pretty Basic Course
This is fine as a cheap pay & Play course.
It is quite flat and uninteresting with little or no hazards to worry about. The greens are poor but fast.
The course would benefit from a few more trees and bunkers.
On the positive side, it would suit beginners and those who want to try out clubs and new techniques as the lack of hazards makes it open and easy to find off line balls.
Reasonable value for the money.
Nice but very slow
I like to play here 2 to 3 times a month but how ever .. the course is really good and is forgiving unless you slice or hook it by a long way then your ball is lost … but saying that I always find a ball .. But the real problem is slow play the course is great value but your not playing St. Andrews .. if it was I could understand .. the course not a long one so to take a little over 4 hrs is poor… played lots of courses bigger and gone round quicker even played hollinwell lots of times and that is a long course and done it in 3 half hours … and I’m not the straightest hitter …. Today how ever was busy which is good but we noticed people jumping in on the 10th which really slowed the day down .. people must remember play to your ability and when you hit your ball wayward into thick ruff just remember the time your allocated to find it and think of others …, course is lovely how ever slow play is becoming an issue
