Course was in a decent condition considering the time of year, but only 12 of the holes were open - despite the full cost and the clubs website stating the full course was open.
Stiff said nobody updates the website anymore...so I guess will need to take it all with a pinch of salt. Hoping to get some money back from GolfNow considering we paid for 18 holes but only.got 12
Great value
Course in really good condition for time of year, temporary tees but not a problem.Definatelycan see work being done to look after the course, and so I would recommend
Good Value
Good value for money, playing off uneven mats, greens bumpy but overall good
Interesting a must to play
We have played this course twice now first time was end of summer this time the course was played while it was after a very wet week and the course is standing up well to to wet conditions and played very different as little to zero run but a very nice course
Worth playing during the week
The staff was very friendly and helpful, over the last week we had 5 inches of rain and the course was in very good condition greens was fair after all the rain fairways was good not much laying water found it had long holes and interesting a real nice place would recommend and will be playing again.
Only 2 complaints but greens were very poor.also the pace of play was very slow. Seemed to have a tee time every 7 or 8 minutes
State of play
Have played two weekends in a row and both times very slow the last time was a joke 15 mins late even teeing off it doesn’t seem like anyone is running the course no one making sure people are keeping up with play too many youngsters that don’t seem to have any idea about golf etiquette understandable to a point but you have a dress code that doesn’t seem to be adhered too very disappointed this week as I like the course but I feel like not playing it again as it’s just chaos
Nice course
Despite this review, I like this course. Staff are all very friendly.
Greens had been hollow tined and sanded so we’re not good. No notification about this from either the course or Golf Now - would likely have booked elsewhere had we known. We paid top dollar but felt the green fees should have been discounted considering the state of the greens.
Also, my playing partner had his golf ball pinched by one of the many off lead dogs running around the course!
Good standard
The course was in good condition although a lot of whispy long grass close to the second cut. I appreciate that if I was straighter this wouldn’t be an issue but if it was trimmed back periodically this would help everyone’s game? My only negative really.
Good course for a high to middle handicap’s
I played mid week at lunch time and it was busy, so as a one ball I was held up a lot. The three ball in front played off the white tees and would be hitting a minimum of two off of the tee, I just saw no point in trying to slice or hook the ball as far as you can and then blame the club. Not the golf clubs fault but they should take the tips away and only get out for competitions. There is an American Golf attached nd. Driving range, so this has all that you need.
Issues, yep there are a couple;, the practice putting green needs some love, and owing to the high foot fall the tee boxes need some extra love.
The good; think the green keepers are doing a great job under the circumstances ( high footfall ).
End of the day I had a good round, (albeit slow) but thanks to the staff and the greens keepers.
Flat
This course is mainly on the flat with wide fairways. It's a very good course in dry conditions. In the holiday times it is very busy and so the pace can be quite slow.
It rained a lot!!
Not the courses fault obviously bit it was in good condition. Lasted until the 13th before calling it a day….theres only so much soggy you can handle. Although looking to clean my trolley and shoes of there was no air pressure guns available which was a bit frustrating having to put dirty kit in my car.
Good for the money
Paid £23
Course good condition overall
Some nice wildlife on the back 9
I wouldn’t want to play this all the time but good for a visit
Course condition
Excellent condition although being a bit picky where the fairways have been cut there was a lot of cut grass left on a number of them. Greens played well.
Could be great
Short course, mostly doglegs, little differentiation between rough and fairways, holes grown in and crowned, greens incredibly slow and bobbly. Watch out on the 10th as balls from the driving range landing all around you.
Exceptionally pretty course with much wildlife, such a pity.
Value for money
We enjoyed our round very much. Not overly difficult & quite flat. Enjoyed our round, thanks very much
