Course only had 12 holes open being on the river Stour and after a deluge of recent rain. Many local courses closed.
It is generally a good course albeit Shortish course, greens okay for time of year.
I'm seriously struggling to get any money back for 12 holes only, help!
Improving all the time
Got to say this course is getting better all the time. Considering the rain course had dried fast and well. One suggestion is a slope rating for playing off the mats.
Just reasonable.
Good track generally. Nothing to shout about. Still trying to shake off the iford image. Pace of play was so so. Played in a pair, stuck behind a three ball which teed off late, despite there being no one in front. Pace has been an issue previously at times. No true yard markers so tricky green approaches.
Fairly average
Not a particular interesting course but it is usually in good condition although greens were poor when we played
A great day out
When the sun shines and the rain stays away, you will have an amazing round
Good value course
Apart from recent maintenance to the greens, work that iis obviously important for there upkeep meant they were slightly bumpy. The course is fun to play for all levels of golfer's
Friday morning round
Polite staff and good course layout, good pace of play but unfortunately the course is massively let down by some awful greens. Resembled the old style astro turf is the best way I could describe it. Also on at least 5 or 6 holes there is ‘trenches’ which I can only guess is recently worked on water pipes but these create an awful area to play shots from on the fairway on several holes. Disappointing as otherwise a nice course and facilities
A nice change I’d scenery
Not played the course before but will certainly go back. Great warm up facilities, great layout and if it wasn’t for the recent green maintenance I’d expect to be saying great greens 👍
Poor condition
Unfortunately the greens had just been hollow cored and the greens were full of hole’s and sand, ripp off after paying £18 each which was a hot deal, would have been well unhappy if I paid the full price £25.
Great course and great Staff
Really nice course in great condition, It was nice to play a course that made you think about club selection and ball placement.
Public footpath’s cross the course , and we had a group of walkers walk down our fairway and they refused to go back on the path when asked .
We saw 2 course martial’s who were trying to address this problem, so top marks there .
Fantastic
Well done to all at Christchurch Golf Club
.
Course has much improved since the new ownership took over. Fantastic facilities Range with live tv golf tracking so you can see details of your every shot. In winter simulators bays are great option. Little par 3 course to practice your short game. Even fantastic 18hole crazy golf which is the best I ever played so you can take your family or beginner friends to have a cracker. On top of that Pro shop with wide range and great bars and restaurant. This place has it all. Fantastic value for money with great coaching Team.
Golf
This is a good summer course with wide fairways that are in a good condition. Its not too busy so the pace of play is ok. It has a good bar for food and drinks at the end of the round.
Meh
If you like playing congested, slow golf, then this is the course for you. So, so slow. I was a single in a buggy and despite being allowed through by 2 4 balls, I still wound up behind a 2 ball (who hilariously had brought their own buggy with them lol) who were behind a 4 ball.
Tee time at 11am on a Monday morning.
It's about £8 too expensive for what it is, which is a golf course tacked onto the side of a giant driving range and crazy golf course. I'd expect to pay £16-£20. £49 including a buggy all in was much for this place.
Greens decent, fairway scorched (obviously) but ok, rough was playable.
I came away wishing I'd done a touch more research and maybe paid a bit more money somewhere else.
I would definitely play here again
I enjoyed my round here very much. It has a great mix of pars so plenty of opportunities to get the driver out of the bag.
It is a flat coarse so push trolley was fine for here.
I was impressed how healthy the grass was on most of the coarse fairways considering the near drought conditions at the moment. Although some areas have suffered generally the coarse was in great condition..
My one criticism would be the lack of obvious signage to guide you the the next tee box and on a couple of occasions we headed for the wrong one which obviously slows play but apart from that a great day of golf.
