Good Test of Golf
Played the lakes course for the first time in few years and was impressed in the improvement of the layout. Played tricky in stiff wind as some holes are really tight and need straight shots off the tee. Greens were in good fast condition too.
Well worth £20 green fee
Testing Course
Hadn't played in ages so found this quite a challenge. Lovely greens although rather a lot of Goose and swan poo. But very good value on the hot deal
Great Course, Great weather... great result...!
As ever, this course was in pristine condition, rivalling any Of the top class courses I’ve ever had the privilege of playing. The greens are so good it’s unbelievable that anyone has ever played on them..! Players seem only too happy to repair pitch marks (as they should...!) As it only makes sense to keep the already outstanding greens In as good a condition as possible.
I love this course, and it is slowly becoming my number 1 choice whenever we can avoid those nasty storms...
A brilliant round, very friendly and helpful staff, and a good pint in the 19th.
Wonderful...!
Stunning
First time at the Lakes & Wow what a great course great set up outstanding fairways. stunning greens and competition speed loved the whole day and course
Nice course, well maintained
Nice course that was well maintained, fairways good, greens quick, a lot of wildlife on the course due to the amount of water, so lots of goose, swan poo, it didn’t interfere too much with the day, but i suppose it is to be expected and green keepers can’t really do anything about it,
Very nice day overall
Layout
The course has a great layout. The Pro or golf manager was very helpful explaining possible membership.
Good challenging course
The course layout is great. Not a straight forward course, need thinking to get around. Good challenging course !
Just Anazing
I am so impressed with this course. I first played it a couple of weeks ago and it just blows me away how well kept it is. The greens are in phenomenal condition, the fairways are just sublime, and despite me losing to my playing partner by 1 point, I didn’t really care because I’d enjoyed the scenery and the diverse range of holes that the Lakes course had to offer. I have since played another 2 times at Longhirst, once on the Dawson course and one more Lakes round. I am back up there tomorrow on the Dawson, and just can’t wait to be standing over my ball on the first tee.
5 stars all round for the friendly staff and the great job they have done not only on the course, but in their clubhouse, allowing players (and non-players) to feel safe when ordering drinks etc... as all the required safety features were well in place and working perfectly.
Thanks for a wonderful experience...!
Class
First time playing the lakes course and it's easily one of the best courses I've been on.
Challenging course with the amount of water. If you're going for the first time and as much of a amateur as i am.. take plenty of balls!
Fantastic par 3's and great views.
Definitely recommend it and definitely going again
Chinese 2 ball wouldn’t let me through
A mother and son of Ch in ese wouldn’t allow a 1 ball through even though they were playing off the reds and I was standing on the yellows waiting to tee off... I gather they are members but very ignorant and not playing within the spirit of the game they would stand looking for balls in the rough etc.. when we are both standing on the same tee and you don’t let someone through is very disgraceful and these people should be educated as a former member I think it is disgusting that this goes on even the 3 ball behind me said they will never let you through. Kind of put me off rejoining. I teed off when they were looking for their balls but still tried to play ahead of me! Complete joke love the course just dislike the ignorance of this woman!
Lakes course good challenge
Course played really well and was in very good condition definitely has some good challenging holes. I’ll definitely be playing here again soon
after the big C
1st game since feb---big C to blame. still on partial lockdown but staff helpful upon checkin.
played the Lakes which has a good variety of holes & supprisingly lost only one ball.
The ground was hard--rain needed--but fairways good & greens true although they were a bit seedy.
great value & will defo go back.
Many thanks to my caddy / wife Joanne who is a very good putter on those greens !!
