great water features
A lovely course which is challenging in places. We ate in the clubhouse and the food was very good.We will return
Beautiful course
The course is rather flat.
Due to water/ponds some holes are rather tricky. We enjoyed playing here.
No stress since there were few other players when we played The scenery is beautiful with ponds with water lillies and swans, ducks and other birds around...
Great course
Friendly and accommodating staff. Good facilities and a fantastic and challenging course. Fairways well kept and the greens are top notch! Fantastic layout and scenic.
Looking forward to playing again soon
Good condition
Course in very good condition greens are in great condition balls running true
Fin runde på Dawson Course
We had a nice round, even if our score was not the best - after having played golf 11 days in a row...
Very nice fairways and greens. Challenging water hazards at some holes, nice scenery with swans, ducks and other birds. ...and waterlilies made the water hazards a bit more friendly
Good condition
Had a great day I was paired with other golfers because of hot deals but made the round even better very good crack course in good condition
Great experience being a first time player here
Challenging but not overpowering. Experiencing water, sand bunker on each hole but nothing too daunting to handle. A brilliant course for improving your game and flat enough to save your energy to use it for game strategy.
Thank you, I would definitely recommend it for all standards of players
Lovely greens
Course in very good condition particularly the greens bearing in mind it was the middle of October
Actually played the Lakes course
Loved the course. Some really interesting and challenging holes. Will definitely be going back.
Look forward to seeing you again
What a Bargain
Booked this course at the last minute and so glad I did, good layout, great condition and the greens were beautiful. Had most of the course to myself too. When I go back for another game I think I'll leave my driver at home, the water hazards are all in play from the tee boxes, played the back nine with a three wood from the tee and scored much better. A Wee cracker of a course
Moffat Lad's On Tour
The Dawson course at Longhirst Hall is a really good test of golf, plenty of room of the tee plenty of length to most hole's and testing green's. All in all most enjoyable a nice flat course so easy to walk, clubhouse after your round for a drink and some food perfect.
Thanks for the 5* !!
Thankyou for 5* !
Picturesque course
This course is well laid out the fairways are long on most par 4 holes on the back 9 plenty of water around greens are well kept due to the weather most off the fairways could do with a good downpour you can hire electric cars for your clubs nice bar on the 19th hole serves food pro shop well stocked up .
Thankyou !
Greens need serious attention
Longhirst Hall is a really nice place to have a round of golf, the staff were great and very helpful. Unfortunately when we played, there was a senior competition a few holes in front of us and we caught them up quite quickly. They were taking ages and it slowed the pace of play down for us and everyone behind us. It ended up taking us more than 4 hours to finish the round. Also the greens were very patchy and could do with some serious treatment. When we were looking at the greens from a distance we thought we seen what looked like bunkers but when we got closer, it was just the disease on the green. We still enjoyed the day and would return with the price we paid on Golf Now but if the club spent a bit of time on getting the greens sorted we would be happy to just turn up and pay the full price.
Thanks for your comments. 4 hours is the national average for a game. With regards to the greens. Its been dry for almost 8 weeks now, there is no "disease", just a few dry patches which does occur during these periods. We'd be happy to see you again after we've had some rain and you can see the full glory of the courses.
Double take.
Played the Dawson course two weekends on the bounce.
It’s currently in fantastic condition and thanks to TeeOffTimes; great value for money.
Looking forward to playing the Lakes course sometime soon.
Many thanks for the review
