Great Course But...

I love Longhirst. It's home to two phenomenal golf courses. My personal favourite is The Lakes but The Dawson is also great. I travel a long way to play here but was disappointed when I arrived to find out that they didn't accept card payment in the clubhouse and I was unable to buy any drinks or food. By the end of the round I was absolutely shattered. I never thought in 2022 that I couldn't pay by card payment. I even asked if there was a cash machine and the answer was no. I'll know for next time though. Well worth it for the golf course.

Lovely layout and immaculate greens

A lot of rain recently and despite a little soft on top the course absorbed to rain really well and still run on the ball. Faultless greens. Long course even from the Yellow tees and enjoyed playing again, even though my scoring below average but my partner played well. Great to have 2 courses on one site and playing the Lakes on 26th.

Absolutely delight of a course. From start to finish. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming. The course was really busy but we didn't have to wait tee boxes. Will definitely be back again. Plus I didn't lose any balls compared to the lakes course haha

Change of scenery

Course was in good condition, tee boxes ready for some work but level and playable.

Greens were rolling so true and pretty quick. Hats off to the green staff as drought has hit elsewhere yet they've kept the Dawson course looking and playing very good!

Will be back as amazing layout and value for money at £21.

Immaculate.

I've played here a few times over the years but this is the best condition I've seen the Dawson.

It was cheaper to book online with GN, than pay at the coarse.

Great course, strange layout

Some amazing hole’s particularly the 4th with the island green, some challenging holes also. Pro was very friendly as were other golfers on the course. Only slight downside is the tees seemed to be a bit scattered around but most were well signposted.

Fully recommend the course and looking forward to a return round
