Good Course
Generally quite a hilly course that can be exposed to the wind.
Mixed bag
Been working my way round the local courses. The course was ok, there was a lot of difference in the greens, some were glass and some were sandpaper and bobbly. Finished in 3h but that’s because there’s a lot of par 3s and 4s. A lot of the fairways have more moguls than a ski slope! On the side of a hill so a good challenge, up hill for the vast majority of holes until the 17th.
Hills
First time out this season with my golf buddy and was a poor choice. Staff very friendly but the course is too hilly for us to really enjoy, however saying that it was a lovely sunny day and the views were superb. The state of the fairways were ok but the greens need some attention as too bobbly. Was held up slightly by a group playing football golf and a group having a picnic on one of the greens :-/ saying all that it wasnt so bad for £15 each.
Great Day Out
A very friendly welcome, interesting course and great views. Great value for money.
First time played here (high handicapper)
Not the longest course by its own admission, but course in great condition esp.for this time.of year and no winter greens in play.
Bit hilly in places.but worth the climb. 17th a spectacular view.
Definitely recommend
Take your climbing boots!
On a beautiful clear day, the views across Manchester and the Pennines were stunning. My calves and lungs have been severely tested, so make sure you are prepared for the slopes.
Some great blind holes and uphill shots.
Definitely wouldn't want to be up there in the cold and wet but we had a perfect autumnal day
Hilly
Too many blind spot, feel different to general course
Never again
We booked for bank holiday monday. The guy in the shop was rude and told us we couldn't play. Then said we shouldn't have booked as the app is rubbish. I will not recommend this course to anyone. The shear disrespect towards us was unnessecary.
Got tangled up with families playing football golf wasn't able to take shots had to wait. Pro shop closed as guy went for a Sandwich and never came back
Good course with great views. Worth a visit
Had an enjoyable round at Oldham yesterday. The course is generally very well kept, majority of greens in decent condition. Certainly well worth the money and no queuing around the course. Only comment would be that there are quite a few out-of-sight greens from the tee box. Local knowledge of some steep slopes behind the markers is key to keeping the ball in play. Great views across Manchester make this course worth a visit.
Great but challenging course
Really enjoyed the course at Oldham, really pushed us
Beautiful views
Booked with golf now for 2 of us for a great price. Arrived at the club shop to be met with a really friendly lady to book us in who told us we could tee off as soon as we were ready. The course was in lovely condition, and each hole and tee was clearly marked out. The fairways are really narrow In places and if you miss them 90% chance your getting a new ball out. The course is really hilly so if you struggle with your fitness it won't be a good course to play. As you get to the back 9 there's some beautiful views across Greater Manchester, alot of the holes you play blind as you can't see the flags but there are markers on the fairways to help you. All the greens were in good condition some running fast and some slow making it hard to read each green. Finished the round off with a nice cold pint from the clubhouse sat in the sun. All in all we had a great afternoon on probably the most challenging course we've ever played.
Oldham Golf
Very good value . The greens are in Fantastic condition but the the tee Boxes were not the best and the signage needs some direction arrows to help you to the next tee overall great course .
Challenging walk
This is the first time I had played Oldham Golf Course and was aware that the last 9 holes were 'hilly'. The course was in good condition and there were some holes where local knowledge would have been handy. Overall I enjoyed the course but the holes on the higher ground caught up with me by the end when I felt tired. That said I would certainly recommend it to friends as the course was good to play
