Golfer Reviews
Over priced for what you get.
Feels like it should be better than it actually is. The clubhouse looks very nice but some basics were missing - no practice green, no trolleys available etc. The greens were impressive but the rest of the course isnt in very good shape - the fairways were poor and often lots of weeds in them. Very easy to get a poor lie on the fairways.
There was a long queue to get the round started, it wasnt clear why. Ended up being a 4.5 hour round for a 2 ball. The only time i saw a course marshall was when they shouted out to tell me to look at a cat as i was addressing the ball on the tee about to swing - was very odd and unhelpful behaviour!
Overall course was ok, but for £40 I expected a lot better.
Parkwood
Great course in a very nice location the course has very good amenities, pace of play is very good and everyone very friendly, nice to be able to stop for a pint halfway round
Excellent value
Played on a Sunday, £21.99 which was extraordinary considering the quality of the golf course
Very pleased indeed and will definitely be going back
Great day out at Park Wood
It's been a brutally hot summer, and the fairways are like concrete and very bare. The rough is cut fair and the tee boxes show a lot of use but are in decent condition. The greens are so much better than they were earlier in the year. The club has spent a lot of money on the irrigation of the greens and it is coming along really nicely. Park Wood is a long, hard course and is a very good test of golf. Tania and the team work really hard, the food is good and the bar is a nice place to chill. It is what it is for a very reasonable price. In my view it is the best reasonable cost round in the area. I have a lot of time for Park Wood. Play it a lot in a society and just for fun
Fantastic greens
As soon as we arrived the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly, the course itself is long but had a buggy , the fairways were ok but the greens were in fabulous condition very quick and easy to over hit a putt , I would definitely recommend and play again .kind regards Andy wood
BUNKER Requies more sand.
For the majority of the holes any shot from the bunkers is hindered due to the lack of sand having a negative impact on your club selection
In many cases the club is bouncing of the base of the bunker as the level of sand is too shallow.
This course could be amazing!
This course has lots to offer but is just lacking in certain areas, the practice green is tiny yet super quick!
The driving range is vast but there are only two markers for distance and no flags to aim at.
The course is a fantastic layout but is lacking a bit of TLC, the greens are super slow and are in desperate need of a cut to match the speed of the practice green.
Overall the course is a little scruffy in places but over all a joy to play. It’s a tight track so you need to be accurate and the greens are not massive.
With a little TLC this would get top marks, the food is nice and overall it ticks a lot of boxes!
Lovely course layout and great conditions
Played here for the second time and can happily recommend the course. It's a nice layout and great club house amenities. Only two things to criticise; A large number of bunkers don't feature sand and it took us 5h to finish the 18 holes due to slow play.
Decent course for the money
This is a very decent course for the green fee on offer here. But also be warned this course is also a big magnet for the hackers 2 ball 4h20min to get round not too bad to get round in a hackers paradise. But value for money and course conditions you can’t fault it.
This course is Great Value. It's in good condition. Few holes are parralel to each other but they have tried to vary the holes as much as possible. Greens are true. Good mix of lo g and short holes. Over, I was impressed. This was the first time pkayingbtge course, but I would play it again.
Great courese but unbelievably slow pace of play
Really nice course; well kept and average greens. But the pace of play is supremely annoying. too many society games slowed everything down to a crawl. Spent 6 hours playing 18 holes - in a buggy too!
