Lovely course layout and great conditions

Played here for the second time and can happily recommend the course. It's a nice layout and great club house amenities. Only two things to criticise; A large number of bunkers don't feature sand and it took us 5h to finish the 18 holes due to slow play.

Decent course for the money

This is a very decent course for the green fee on offer here. But also be warned this course is also a big magnet for the hackers 2 ball 4h20min to get round not too bad to get round in a hackers paradise. But value for money and course conditions you can’t fault it.

This course is Great Value. It's in good condition. Few holes are parralel to each other but they have tried to vary the holes as much as possible. Greens are true. Good mix of lo g and short holes. Over, I was impressed. This was the first time pkayingbtge course, but I would play it again.

Great courese but unbelievably slow pace of play

Really nice course; well kept and average greens. But the pace of play is supremely annoying. too many society games slowed everything down to a crawl. Spent 6 hours playing 18 holes - in a buggy too!

Decent enough

Course was fun, by no means an incredible course but good value for money on a bank holiday Monday.

Negative: Full round took around 5 and a half hours as a four ball, a society ahead of us slowed down the round for everyone there that day. Greens were bobbly.

Positive: Course is long and forgiving, so gives you a good opportunity to full send your driver. Fairways and bunkers were well maintained

0 Course Management

Arrived to find a queue of players at the first tee box an hour before our tee off time. Turned out a society of 40 were the first out onto the course. However, as per many courses I’ve played at, I would have expected if a society of 40 were scheduled to play then tee times up to an hour after their last tee time would be blocked from booking to allow the society to not dictate the pace of play. Instead, there was no course management at this establishment and we followed the society which took 3 hours to do 9 holes. The greens were also in awful condition. I would avoid this course unless management start implementing simple changes to improve pace of play.

Park wood

Well laid out course for driving the call off the tee.

Greens ok need a little bit of tlc although the lack of recent rain may have had an effect especially on fairways (difficult to take a divot.

Very slow & not worth the journey

Easy to follow course but very tired looking, green need a lot of attention. there wasn't a drop of water in the ball cleaners not to mind on the greens. Staff interaction was very poor basically got you away from counter as fast as possible. When we finished our round at 7pm everything was locked up. One of the staff members was walking around inside as i tried to open the sliding door to gain entry. he looked and just turned away. i had just spent over 4 hours on the course as a 2 ball which was extremely slow because none of the groups in front would leave faster groups play through. I wanted to use the Toilet but he walked out the back door and jumped in his car.

Very slow play

Round took far too long due to large groups on a Saturday and not respecting/controlling tee times. Had to abandon round at hole 16 due to other commitments. Very frustrating and a waste of money

I've played at Park Wood a few times now and it's a really nice course to play. Good variety of holes and some long par fours. However if you go at a weekend as a two ball you will suffer, there are far too many societies that play this course and just don't know how to keep pace, the marshal even came out yesterday when we were on the third, he told us that it was slow going because there were societies but then went back in to the clubhouse, he didn't hurry anyone up, People have obviously complained recently because there were notices on some of the tees regarding slow play but it's not good enough, the course recommended time for a four ball is 4 hours, as a two ball it took us five and half hours!!! Two groups behind us walked in after the first nine holes. I'm not going back again at a weekend.

An interesting course

First time here, really enjoyed it. We were made very welcome by the team at Park Wood. There was quite a bit of slow play - we were a 4-ball and we caught up a 2-ball in front of us! The course was in good condition apart from a few of the greens which were variable, bobbly and a bit bare in places. Having said that, we all agreed we would return in the future.

Poor pace of play

Went golfing as single and got stuck behind a pair playing very slowly on the 4th hole. I followed the pair, sometimes having to wait 10 mins on the tee box to wait to tee off whist they were looking for balls in the woods, and they didn’t let me play though. Very disappointed, and I left the round after hole 10 as I couldn’t stand to play the rest of the round at that snails pace

My experience

I really do like this course as the layout is very good and the views are amazing. Haven't played for a few years songave it a go, the greens need some tlc as patchy and wobbly but it really I'd a lovely course. Brought a friend who enjoyed itl too, greens improved I'd definitely up the ratings. Shame we also had a really slow 5 hour round but sometimes that's just the standard of groups in front.

Course in great condition but play very slow.

Overall the course was in great condition but the pace of play was very slow due to societies teeing off early and then all the tee times being filled afterwards. First par 3 had three groups waiting on tee box and it was forty minutes from finishing previous holes before teeing off on par 3 , other than that a lovely course great golf and even better company.

So slow

Park wood normally has a good pace and space on the course to spread out and cope with numbers. 3 hours for 9 holes is totally unacceptable at any course, 4 groups on a whole is ridiculous and not enjoyable. What’s more when we walked off at 9 there was no one on the first and the 10th was clear. Stop cramming and joining up GN booking to get more people on! Spread it out please!!

Nice course

Really enjoyed the course. Fairways and greens good but greens could do with more watering as very firm. Pace of play was slow but weather was great so didn’t mind too much. Very nice course and will play again.
