Great alternative to home course
Everything from the excellent pro shop ( Snainton golf again) to the pace of play , course condition etc all contributed to a great afternoon. We didn't choose a peek time so pace was fine .. a little bit of waiting on couple of tees but this was minimal. Enjoyed it ... Only gripe is they didnt have magners or bulmers lol.
This course is well planned but not as well kept
The overall layout of the course was great and made for an enjoyable round of golf. Tee boxes all in good condition and plenty of hazards to plan your shots around.
We were a bit underwhelmed with the overall condition of the course. This may be somewhat attributed to the recent dry weather however, the greens were browning in areas (likely dry due to the lack of rainfall) and a few of the fairways have probably seen better days. Some of the bunkers seemed to have a very shallow layer of sand.
Would most likely play the course again but we would probably wait for some rain before returning.
Friends 4 ball
Shot 93 on a good tricky course and for me it was a great day The greens are kept to a good standard and the fairways are lovely to play off with the rough been rough. Top golf course
Loved the course
I absolutely loved playing the course for the first time the only issue was reaching the 14th and having 4 balls ahead on each hole meaning that by 15 I gave up as it would have taken longer for the last 4 holes than the whole of the round.
That did not take away the enjoyment of the round and I would defo play again
Excellent value deal
Overall Rating Excellent day only gave 4 star as water fountain not working on a hot day to re fill water bottle at the halfway house .
Great day
Played a great round ( for me anyway) the course was I. Perfect condition, loved it,. My only negative is why are so many golf courses not turning on the water fountains ? There is one on the 15th, turn the thing on!!!!!
Good value for money
I have played this course twice this week and definitely will come back. Price cant argue with paid 20 for one round and 16 for another. Greens and fairways bit hard but expected for this time of year, with hot weather and little rainfall. But greens and fairways still very green and not brown and dead. Good course for all abilities and I will deffo be back
Pleasant enough
The first 6 holes are just up and down after that there is a bit of feature in the holes. The greens were ropey spongey and bumpy and not in great condition. There was even weeds showing through. The fairways are in poor condition and very patchy not really like a fairway. Drainage ditches have collapsed. The Galway house was closed and inaccessible and the drinking water fountains were inoperable. No cooked food available in the clubhouse at 1930 hrs. That said it was playable and nicely tree lined. Good for a practice knockabout but not for a quality day out
Pike hills
Got stuck behind a slow group but course was in good condition
Great day on the course.
Our only criticism was a really small point, we didn't think the greens had been cut that morning. They ran very true but were slower than expected. Other than that point every aspect of the course was excellent.
A decent track.
Firstly, the staff could not be more pleasant. From green keepers to the chairman who greeted me on arrival.
Secondly, the course layout and ease on aging joints and bones was excellent.
Thirdly, greens in excellent condition and quicker than a vaseline covered squirrel.
Fourth, being stuck behind extremely slow players x7 elderly ladies who had zero interest in waving me through made it a phenomenally slow game. It was the only downside to the course but it won’t stop me going back.
