An unexpected little gem

A shortish but fantastic little course, excellent value for money and would recommend it to anyone. Hole 2 is fantastic picturesque par 3 and some well thought out holes that make them tougher than the length would suggest. Give it a go.

Spring sunday

We played this course for the 1st time

We chose it because it seemed value for money and close to where we live .

The course was in good order and not too busy for a Sunday my playing partners were relatively in experienced and found it challenging myself being more experienced I enjoyed the challenge of a new course.

The only thing I found was the greens were a touch on the slow side to what I'm used to but all added to the enjoyment of the day

Great value for money

Good day, coarse in great nick for the time of year. Fairways were winter length but in good condition, some members were still using personal fairway mats hence fewer divots. As it was the Tuesday knock there were a number of groups out but the only 4 ball let us through at the turn as they had the 2 ball in front of us, great etiquette and really friendly. The greens are small but in good condition and still pretty quick and true for the time of year. Great value for money.

After a rainy November

Was expecting the worse purely as a result of the amount of rain we have had in November. Considering the rain we have had the course was in great nick and the greens where well kept and true.

Good decision to leave the grass on the fairway a bit longer than normal.

Hats off the the green keepers! 👏👏👏

2nd time playing this course

Only my second time on a course and loved playing here. The fairways are good but some the greens need a bit of work as they’re mossy and parts are just mud. Still really good practice.

Picturesque

Lovely course well looked after, couple had green were having moss treatment and looked patchy but no issues. Would recommend the course even if it was just for a walk around :)

Newbie

I played Scalm Park for the 1st time with 3 other golfers, although I have known about the course for some time, I didn't think it would be worth playing. My opinion was changed when I played it, the course has a lot of variety in the holes, although some of the greens and tees were in poor condition, I really enjoyed the round and played well, would definitely play the course again.

Good course - would recommend

Course was in great condition considering all the hot weather. Pace of play was decent only held up once for a little while. Plenty of wide fairways. Pin locations were difficult. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Poor course

To sum up this course I’d say it needs serious investment.

The driving range is in poor condition with shabby mats, the club house seemed to be full of drunks shouting and singing!

The course is long and straight, with the same feel one hole after an other after an other, there is very little in the way of hazards or design to the course, by the 12th hole we was getting pretty bored.

On our visit the greens were terrible, very patchy and black making putting for par near impossible, the bunkers had very little sand and the fairways needed a cut.

Overall I’d say it’s cheap enough for a blast with the lads, but there’s way better locally for the same money.

Very flat course

Flat course, nice fairways, greens suffering a little due to dry weather. Overall good course for the price.
