Seaham
Was nice just to get a game of golf in.
Drove 20 minutes down the road as was closest course open after all the rain we have had.
Was very impressed, don’t get me wrong was very wet in places on some of the fairways but I thought the greens were in excellent condition for the middle of December.
A few winter greens were in play because of standing water on the main green’s & winter tee boxes were also on every hole.
The course has 5 par 3’s which are all brilliant in my opinion.
Will definitely be visiting again.
Sunny Seaham golf course
Great weather greens immaculate little wet but it’s that time of year terrific views too Xclnt.
Early starter
Beautiful course greens in fantastic condition for this time of year.
One of the greenkeepers decided to follow us round for 15 holes which was a little off-putting with the engine running constantly whilst trying to putt but maybe that says more about my putting ability!
Been few times will be back!
Strange
Told on arrival that we’d have to double up with another two. Essentially told that’s because we used golf now. Guy was quite rude so didn’t buy anything from his shop. Went off in a two anyway. Course was waterlogged in parts, muddy in other parts and very crowded...four balls everywhere. Worse experience all summer
A little Gem
Greeted by friendly staff, good start to procedures, with plenty of signage advising covid-19 guidance on course, weather fine with fresh wind blowing from the west.
Course in good condition despite the recent rain, plenty of out of bounds and blind holes, which kept you on your toes and your fitness tested with the terrain.
I have recommended our society play this venue next season, as a good test to any golfer with stunning views of the surrounding area
Slow Play watch out
Usually play seaham as its close, but won't be going back. Played Sunday and played behind a four ball of lady members. Terrible from 1st tee, would not let us play through even when loosing balls, 10 minutes wait on every tee box. Horrendous. Lost 3 potential members.
Great value for money
Booked via Golf now for £12 plus £1 booking so was great value for money. The British weather played it's part in trying to ruin the round but still enjoyed a wet and windy round.
Course is quite open with some long holes, some nice par 3 too
Slow play
Greens were a bit tacky but we did play late afternoon so would expect that. Also 2 x 4 balls in front were so slow and would not let 2 balls play through. Waiting 10 minutes on a tee to start hole.
Pleasantly surprised hidden gem
A bit awkward to find! I booked to play on my own and on arrival went to the pro shop to find out the lay of the land.
Tried to book a buggy but they only have two so book in advance.
Pro was very welcoming and even managed to bump up my tee time so I could get off a bit sharper.
A member was playing solo in front and waved me up and let me join him from the third hole which was a really nice gesture, golf was crap but the walk and chat were great!
Thank you,, I’ll gladly play again and was well worth the money
Make sure to use a buggy!
All round good course, however a lot of the holes are up very steep banks. I’d say as long as you use a buggy it’s a great course.
Excellent as always
Title says it all. Members are really nice and always welcoming.
Lovely course.
Lovely scenic course with quick play, well positioned holes and nice tee’s. I would recommend this to anyone, few better signs around 10-14th Tee would make it better.
