Great course in superb condition
Most other local courses were either closed or had restrictions. Based on reputation, I decided to try South Shields and was amazed, as most other first-timers would be, at how playable it was. Simply the best winter course for miles around and a good one in general. I will definitely be back in winter to sample 'summer golf' conditions. Score 82, Handicap 15.
South Shields
Course was in good condition for the time of year. I thought £27 each was a bit excessive for playing on winter tee boxes.
Thanks for taking the time to provide us a rating but we don't have winter tee boxes. We do have the flexibility to move the tee position to another box to provide golfers with variety when playing the course and its always off grass (we don't use mats).

The course is in great condition, despite the fact that there was heavy rain all morning before we went out, the only evidence was the odd puddle on a path, the greens were still very fast and true and the fairways are well maintained

18th hole challenging as long carry needed but apart from that found course in excellent condition.
Fast and tiered greens
Been wanting to try this course for a while and it didn’t disappoint. Plenty of bunkers to avoid and different holes for all golfers to enjoy. Was greeted in the car park with a ‘you’ve got a nice day for it’ off a lovely gent who had just finished his round. Will definitely be back with a few of my mates ⛳️

Good course and very dry considering the amount of rain that has fell recently, would definitely play again!
Great time
Nice course and good condition. It was only a few days after all the rain we have had recently, the course was in great condition. No temporary tees or greens, all the greens were great. Staff in the club house were helpful and welcoming.

Stunning course, even at the start of the season.
First time I play the course. Despite the time of the year the course is in an amazing condition. Winter tees are in play, but all as good as the regular tees , no temporary greens. The course is dry, whereas some other courses in the area are soaking wet. Even though it is easy to walk the course has enough profile and landscape to make it interesting. The views are stunning. Although the course was quite busy the pace of play was still very good.
Will definitely be back, even might make it my home course.

Wonderful condition hidden gem
Lovely course presented in great condition after a long wet and cold winter on the north east coast. We have a lovely day out despite a harsh wind off the sea. Great views from the course over to Newcastle, the port of Tyne and Tynemouth priory, recommended 😀
Driest in the area
Would join here if I lived closer. All year round golf on a good test but a fair links course.
As a visitor I dont think we should have been charged full price to play on 18 drilled and filled greens. Otherwise would Habberley been 5 stars
Proper Winter Golf Course
Course conditions are the best in the North East. Greens superb for February. Very windy, but to be expected.
Course was busy but pace of play was good.
