Whitburn Golf Club

It was very windy when we played, but a sunny day and the views from the course are absolutely stunning.

Pace of play was good (approx. 3 1/2 hours), the course was in excellent condition except for a few patches on a small number of greens, bunkers in great condition and I like the use of holders to place the rakes, could do with some extra signage for the 12th tee box (we missed it), forgiven rough when we played, feels like a remote course but easy to access, great views across South Shields, North Shields and up the coast.

Friendly staff and members. Third time playing this course. Great greens and bunkers looked in good condition (although I managed to avoid them all today!) . The course is well signposted and the last 5 holes are a real treat next to the coast line. The 16th tee has two options for teeing off I terms of a raised(60-70 ft) cliff top like tee and a ground level tee off as an accessible option. Friendly clubhouse and Pro shop. Would definitely recommend.

Nice all round really but particularly have to mention the great views and very good bunkers and greens was a thoroughly enjoyed round of golf even in 20mph winds 😁💨

Whitburn Golf Course is Fantastic. The staff are friendly and the pace of play was great, not rushed but not too slow either. The weather was pleasant if a little windy which made the playing conditions a little tricky but had a great time and really enjoyed the round. I have played at Whitburn before, probably around 5 times and it never fails to make an enjoyable round. A lovely course and I will be back to play here again!!

Played on this open links course which overlooks the coast from Tynemouth to South Shields. Friendly open course so not too punishing for higher handicappers but still enough of a test for mid handicappers

2nd visit. Great course for all levels. Holes 14-18 have superb coastal scenery. Mobility issues can be met with a buggy hire, although I’m not sure of the hire costs.

Headland course with a links vibe. Turf in very good condition and greens excellent. Nice members and welcome in clubhouse by staff. What's not to like for £30. Very good value.

I've played this course before and was surprised how quiet it was the course was in excellent condition greens were perfect a credit to the green keeper's throughly enjoyed my game. I will definitely be playing here again.
