Lovely welcoming atmosphere. Everything was lovely, including the weather.
Welcoming club, good course
Springwater has always been a welcoming course to visitors and it was no different this time. The course was in excellent condition, fairways, rough and greens. The condition has been getting better over the years, because they have put effort into sculpting some of the holes – above all around the greens. The short 9th hole is as good as any par 3 hole in the surrounding counties; the downhill par 3 16th is one of the most improved pieces of landscaping (it used to be non-descript, now it is vert attractive); the par 5 17th makes for a much better challenge, because of the new angle off the tee; and the last hole, another par 3, always used to be a good hole and has been made even better with the work done on the ponds. And there are other good ones.
A real pleasure to play.
A little gem
Looking to relocate to Gedling. This course could be the one. Lovely layout and condition. Members welcoming. Home made pasties and a pint after, outside in the sunshine, was the perfect end to a perfect day.
Awesome test!
What a great golf course! A lot of blind shots, tight approaches to some greens, sloping fairways and surrounds, small greens, 20ft downhill par 3s on back 9.
It’s honestly a cracking test. Considering a member said there was only 3 or 4 greenkeepers maximum there they do a fantastic job! Greens ran lovely, fairways are like carpets and everything was neat and tidy. Bunkers were decent also 👍
Will be coming back to play again for sure. An absolute steal for the price.
Nice course , well looked after , grumpy marshal …
I played this on a Sunday through a GolfNow app booking as like to explore courses I’ve never played before ; decent parkland course , a few hills involved and balance of par 5, 4 and 3s , course was well looked after , greens were in really good condition and course layout was decent , though a bit quirky in places . Pace of play was slow but wouldn’t read too much into that it was a Sunday with a few 4 balls out , course Marshall was a bit “grumpy” when I received a rebuke for having a push trolley at the side of the tee …. Bit of a lecture , not really required (I’m a member of 3 courses north of the border and play off 2, so get course etiquette) , only commenting as it left a bit of annoyance in that if the intent was for to attract visitors to come back then it definitely back fired . Overall a decent course, feedback on Marshall more for the course team to share internally , wouldn’t want to unfairly criticise though unlikely I’ll return.
Awesome place for the money!!
Amazing course, so many different types of holes, some great views, and amazing value for money, what more could you possibly want. Greens were running true as well, all for under £20!
Unyielding ssanie pa e 4 ball
Very nice course with fast greens. It’s a pity that ridiculously slow 4 senior balls don’t yield but this can be typical at weekends elsewhere too.
What a day
I play off 3 been playing 40 + years.
The Club made my wife and I very welcome.
The golf course was in fabulous condition after 4 months of rain. I was surprised at how dry and true the green are here.
Thank you Sue for being so friendly behind the bar.
Thank you and we will be back.
Springwater golf club
Staff and members friendly as always making you feel a welcome visitor.
The torrential rain on the 17th could not be blamed on the club.
The greens have been better on previous visits, though it is February
I always prefer this course in winter!
It’s a great little course but plays very different in summer to winter. It’s hilly so quite hard to get good value for good shots in the summer when the ground is firm and the ball runs on. If you like a challenge in the summer then I’d 100% recommend! It was lovely and quiet and good value on the day. Green and general course condition was excellent considering how much rain we’ve had in recent weeks. We’ll be back!
Good course in winter
The course was in good condition given all the bad weather that there had been over the weeks beforehand.
New course for myself and it was a nice layout, plenty of challenges and a good variety on the course.
Nice Course
Course in good condition considering all the bad weather we have had. Two temp greens very wet underfoot but playable. Coffee and bacon sandwich first very good and halfway house for some warming drink. Really enjoyed it thanks.
Great conditions for the time of year
The Course was in great condition for the time of year and the recent downpours. Greens running well and fairly quick for the time of year. The layout is still interesting with some excellent par 3’s. The short game area was quite badly damaged and the driving range has issues with taking coins at times. Pace of play for a Sunday morning as a 4 ball was excellent and well worth a round.
This course is a good one to play
Overall the was really good,& a good test. The greens had been spiked & sanded so putting wasn't the best . They shouldn't have society golf at the weekend as play was very slow
Course in need of a bit of tlc
A reasonable experience at Springwater for the first time, I have to take in to account that on occasion of this visit all the greens had been hollow tined - However no notice of this on the club website or golfnow at time of booking. This perhaps would have been useful. The course needs a bit of tlc in places, a few bare patches and bunkers needing work but all-in-all an adequate course to play
Drainage police
First time we've played the course and both of us commented how well the course looked.
The greens were fast and some were hard to read.
The fairways were forgiving and we'll looked after, good for high handicaps.
The staff in all area's were spot on.
We would and will recommend to give this course a go.
Great days golf
Superb course in great condition. Not long but tricky. Great views and a very fair test
