Absolute bargain.
Best local course I've played in recent months.
Infact I became a winter member, I was that impressed..
Highly recommend.
Mark the golf pro is a top bloke.
Challenging course
This course offers a great selection of different style holes
Very hilly, tough track, but in excellent order.
Well worth a visit
Challenging
First time on this course. Really enjoyed it. Worst front nine, best back nine I have played in a while. Good variety of holes in play. Greens were good. Bit wet in places on the fairways. Hilly in places so being fit helps. Would definitely play again. Good value for the fee.
Hidden Gem
Last minute decision to play and we got very lucky with Stand. Tucked away, but a really well designed course with some truly fabulous holes. Weather had been awful the days before but you would never had known. Well worth the visit and we will be back.
Highly recommended
An excellent days golf at Stand. Course in great condition. Lovely weather and great value.
Stand golf club
Played Stand a few times previous sadly on this occasion some of the greens had been partly worked on especially around the pin position which detracted from an otherwise pleasant round
Good course
Didn't play that great but still enjoyed my round at this cracking course. Good variation of holes, good pro, very friendly members and the sun was shining. Highly recommended.
Nice challenging course let down by few issues
Stand is a beautiful Golf Course set in north Manchester with some beautiful views and hole layouts. Bunkers were in good quality as were the majority of fairways. We paid £36 which I feel was a little high given some of the niggles we encountered.
1. Be aware you have to wear a facemask to go in to the Pro Shop and the guy in the pro shop was quite angry we didn't have them (NB Golf Now/Stand - please tell us before that this is a requirement).
2. I had played the course some 20 years ago and remember it being challenging and difficult to navigate. So I asked for a Course Planner. To which Pro shop guy said they didn't have any and the course was fairly easy to navigate. This is not the case and we got lost 2-3 times. Signage around the course is v v poor and there isn't even a "map" on the scorecard to help. Surely a minimum when you are paying £36 for a round. If it was £20-25 I wouldn't complain.
3.Back 9 greens were very true but I found the front 9 quite crusty and bumpy. Overall a good but not great course and feel it was a little overpriced.
Wonderful Golf Course
I was told about this course a few weeks ago so we decided to travel and play a 3 ball today. We were met by the pro from the pro shop and he explained the course layout in detail as he knew it was our first time. From the 1st hole to the 18th, this course has everything you could desire from a course. No two holes were the same and such a manicured course and views to match and the greens were brilliant and true which is a great testimony to the green keepers(well done to all!). Will definitely recommend this course to as many people I know and will definitely be back to play again!!!
