Stocksfield Golf Club

A bit challenging for me, as I try to get back into golf after 20 years. You need to be able to hit your ball straight off the tee on the first 9 holes which are tree-lined.

Constantly manicured two keepers on the green during play. Yardage and pictures on the tee each whole. Great value first nine through trees if very picturesque, elevations and doglegs make it interesting

Enjoyable round of golf course in great condition considering recent weather. Mix of summer tees and mats to drive off but all bar 1 of the normal greens in play. Some sections sensibly cordoned off but course was good to play.

Good contact from course regarding conditions.

Given heavy wet rain in lead up course was playable and the greens rolled well.

Heavy in parts but didnt detract from the round.

Worth a visit.

Tricky wee course

First time playing this course good condition for end of September after several days rain. Tough first nine with tree lined fairways and elevated greens. Back nine more forgiving off the tee but still alot of evelation. Overall enjoyable round.

Played the course for £12 which was great value for money! Greens where perfect as well as the course.

Front and back 9 completely different to each other keeping you on your toes.

Difficult to fault this course or the great set up they have. We will definately be back

Narrow fairways and some very interesting holes.worth the drive up there

Nice course; tight on the front 9, then opened out.

Greens were in great shape - very consistent pace.

Played early Sunday morning, we played before club shop was open, but bar staff where there and very friendly. Course was immaculate greens especially great very quick extremely good value.

Would play there anytime

Great challenging golf course that will test your game.

First nine holes are set in woodlands and the back nine are more like a parkland which opens up and you can start attacking the greens.

I teed off at 14:20 and there was a four ball in front of me which I caught up with quite quick as I was alone, they asked if I wanted to play through so I wasn’t held up waiting for 4 to play against my 1.

The front nine I played with more caution but then when I got to the tenth hole I started to give the ball a lot more loft on the back 9. All the greens were in fantastic condition as were the fairways.

This is a course I will definitely be returning to.

All the staff were great and I had a very enjoyable afternoon

Lovely course quite hilly at times with some unusual holes. Plenty of raised greens and a good challenge

Course needed some water bit in really good condition greens were quick but true

Front nine woodland back nine parkland up and across the side of a hill, spectacular views. Challenge to keep the ball on the fairway anywhere else and the trees are in your way. Excellent challenge to all standard of golfer

what a great course for such a great price . greens and fairways were in excellent condition , good test of golf with lots of trees either side of the fairways

This is a beautiful course in excellent condition which gives you a tight, tree-lined parklands front 9 and more open back 9.

Thoroughly recommended

1st time here and what a lovely course. Was in superb condition and the green were true tho could have been a touch quicker

Some really interesting holes old and new alike 18th probably the only poor hole

Only other criticism is that theatre boxes were like concrete had to hammer a tee into some.of them
