Course is in good condition, although members were a headache

Despite having a pre-paid tee time, a group of 12 members rocked up to the first tee when we were there, and told us as they were members they were going to go off first, so we had to wait fully 20 minutes to get away.

Very very annoying.

Course was wet, but playable, fairways in good nick, and greens ok, although some trample marks and no way of expecting a putt to track straight. Quite boggy in the rough / off line in places, and a fair few places were GUR / flooded bunkers.

Great course even on a wet and windy Dec day!

Good warm up facilities although on such a cold day out door range was pretty exposed.

Really enjoyed the course even on a wet and windy Dec day. It held up really well with firm fairways with puddles and wet areas mainly on footways so not an issue for the actual golf.

I'll definitely be back here soon and look forward to having another crack at it in the summer

2 hours for 6 holes

Slowest play I’ve ever encountered... at one stage on the 5th there were 5 groups of players... three on the tee box, one in the fairway and one on the green. All this with 8 minute slots between players... Starter told us that they allow members to play in between gaps in the field and that’s why it is so slow. Tee off at 13h00 was only able to finish 15 holes before dark. What a shame.

Fab day out !

Fantastic course. Great design and very scenic. A real challenge. Many stunning looking holes. A fine one stroke victory to Will. Thanks to Dillon and Dan for a fun game. We will be back for sure!

OK, but too many short par 4s

I just don't much like the layout of this course. Too many short par 4s. Most holes not much trouble off the tee, but some almost impossible to hit the ball to a good place due to narrow and very slopey fairways. Decent condition though

Perfect weather
Walked

Good course spoiled by the lack of marshals to prevent what ended up as very slow play.

Could prevent this by simply watching the direction their ball went, but ended up with buggies and trolleys all looking for one players lost ball.

No call through which is frustrating.

A challenge at every single hole

I would guess this is not a course for those with a handicap over 24 - you need to be able to direct your shots with reasonable accuracy and consistency. For those with these core competencies it is a real challenge, and great fun. Anti Covid measures fully in place and, remarkably, everything operating well including tee boxes, greens, fairways pro shop and clubhouse.

Could be a great course

I enjoyed this course as it is picturesque but it is tough physically..I'm 63 and reasonably fit but despite using a electric trolley it was tiring.as it is very hilly

However the course is in great condition with superb greens and the fairways have a good surface to take a divot.

I have two complaints which are that the tee direction signage was absent on some holes or not in a good position on others. A map and some directions on the scorecards would help. Secondly, the paths are very rocky and uneven and the bunkers need some sand in them ! I know the idea is not to go in them, but there are a lot and they are mostly unplayable with only 1/2 inch of sand and somewhat stony in some. This I found out of character with the course and I suppose if I played it regularly, then I might be more aware of the bunker positions. I paid £26 on a hot deal and so was good value for money but the normal price is £38 so not good value when you take into consideration my comments. I will play again and maybe hire a buggy but only on a hot deal price.

Great course!!!

First time playing at Surrey National! Really good course, incredibly friendly staff too. Excellent practice facilities on top. Which makes warming up fun and easy.

Would definitely recommend to any friends.

The only problem we had was the two elderly members playing in front of us didn’t let us play through, despite being at the tee box with them on at least 5 occasions and with us being in a buggy and then walking. But can’t blame the club or the staff for this.
