Beautiful Course, massively overbooked
Such a shame as the course itself was beautiful and in great condition!
I was given a tee time of 13:12, and whilst waiting at the first tee a group of 4 turned up with the same tee time. There were numerous groups in front, and as I found out later, numerous groups behind.
Waiting at least 10 minutes on each tee, getting hassled by groups behind and being hit into on the fairways.
Overall a really disappointing experience, it was so frustrating and slow that I called it after 9 holes and was told there would be no reimbursement of any kind.
Good condition
Glad to re-visit surrey national. I forgot how much walking is involved and wore the wrong shoes, keep that in mind. Had a good warm up at the range, chipping and putting areas before forgetting it all after 4 holes. Greens and fairways in great condition. Would recommend.
Always enjoy playing here - enjoyed it more the 2nd and 3rd time I played, as there are plenty of slopes to contend with, so it's great when you understand how to play the course. Greens are well maintained, nice spot to sit outside for a drink after too in summer.

Very nice golf course in a very good shape! Definitely worth to play again!
V loud music
Course in good condition... Maintained well as proven by almost every hole having at least one mower on action.
Why they didn't start at hole 18 and work towards the start so players would only be affected once?
The clubhouse was host to a party of "indians" and there was extremely loud Indian music being played which could be heard all around the course. The guests also walked over the greens and drove buggies up fairways ignoring the people who were not in their party.
But an enjoyable game on the sunshine
Very Wet
The Course was green but had floods of water on greens and fairways, we even saw a Heron basking in a bunker!
Other than Storm Antoni the Course was interesting and the Bar Staff member when we finished was a Star!
Will play again, hopefully when dry!
Challenging but worth it
A great course, with lots of sloping fairways and well kept greens.
Be ready for some great views after a few uphill treks! A pleasure to play first time. Will certainly return.

Not too long, tough with the hills means you have to be accurate, greens were in great nick!

We are disappointed to read your review. You had booked a 1.12pm Hot Deal via Golf now and were due to be grouped up with a 3 ball that had also booked the 1.12pm Hot Deal. However the 3 ball had turned up with an extra guest meaning that you played as 1 ball. Naturally as a 1 ball pace of play will be slow when you are playing behind 3/4balls on a busy weekend day. We would recommend booking with an extra person or two to help avoid a similar situation in the future. We are pleased you enjoyed the course though and we hope that we will see you again.
