Not a flat lie in sight!
Had a round on my own on Sunday morning. The course was a lot hillier than I thought, most shots from the fairway were from a sloping lie and proved quite challenging. The course was playing a lot longer and there were winds up to 35mph.
Great course though and I definitely would recommend it.
I will definitely be back to play the course in the summer!
Great Course, amazing day.
Starting at 736am in a frosty 0º Celsius I was not expecting a course in such great conditions.
The greens were a bit tricky as some took longer to defrost than others which added to the challenge.
Every hole seem to bring a new and creative challenge.
The holes with water on were cunning. I managed to put one in the water on EVERY hole that had water.
Rough was short enough that it wasn't too much of a challenge and I found the course well balanced.
Some steep hills to climb, I might rent a buggy next time if I'm feeling lazy.
I shot 100 as a handicap 23 (27 for this course)
After the sun rise there were some fantastic views and a hot air balloon launching nearby. Can't wait to play this course again.
Thank you for your review! We are pleased you enjoyed the course. We have a buggies available so feel free to book one for your next visit. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Thank you for your 5* review! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Surrey National
Not too bad condition for this time of year. However, cost is way too expensive for a mid week round.
Nice course but not really playable in wet winter
Played here before in dry conditions and it was an excellent course. During wet winter, almost not walkable especially when you need to carry and play. Many slip marks clearly folks have slipped whilst walking around. Suggest to the club to close the course if really unplayable.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased you have enjoyed playing the course. Our course is fully open in the winter and drains really well as we are built on chalk. Unfortunately like everywhere we have experienced a very wet few weeks, however we have still managed to stay open. We do not use any temporary tees and greens and all playing surfaces are open. We hope to see you again soon.
Very good for the time of year
It must be really difficult to keep courses in good playing condition at this time of year but they are clearly doing a good job at Surrey National. Definitely pays to keep it straight in these conditions - difficult to pay out of anywhere not on the fairway
Thank you for your review! We are pleased you enjoyed the course and it's condition. We work hard throughout the year maintaining the course so that during the winter months the course is at a fantastic standard to play. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
lot of elevation but forgiving fairways.
Fun course, enjoyable to play. Take a buggy if you tire out easily, lots of ups and downs. Quite far from central london. 1 hour 30 min drive from Mayfair.. Mainly local village players.
Thank you for your review, we are pleased you enjoyed your round here at Surrey National.
Most of our customers travel from Central London and we have fantastic transport links with two train stations close by that are on the mainline to London Victoria and London Bridge. We are also situated between Junction 6 & 7 of the M25 so are easily accessible by car. We hope to see you again soon!
Great course
Very challenging course which asks lots of questions. Would definitely play it again!

Good but didn’t live up to expectations or price
The course is decent however for the price I was expecting slightly more. Everything just seems to be a little aged with minimal investment. The paths are really poor and the clubhouse facilities a little run down..
The golf was enjoyable but I think with the name Surrey National I set the bar too high.
First class course in beautiful Surrey Hills
This is visually a beautiful golf course that is kept in Pristine conditions, I give it 10/10 in all areas but it is a rugged course that will have most people puffing and panting if you chose to walk!!
Thank you for your review! We are pleased you enjoyed your time here and found the course in great condition. We have buggies available so we can reserve one for you on your next visit!
Great greens, terrible pace of play
Greens are in fantastic condition at the moment (late September 2021), ok pace 10ish, but perfectly groomed, that was the highlight.
Pace of play was horrific, course wasn't extra busy, mainly two balls, three balls singles. People reluctant to let you play through. Terrible and slow two ball first, then 3 yuppies who would just run to next tee to tee off and than take it at stupidly slow pace. 4 hour round, there was no reason for 5 minute waits on every tee. Haven't seen a course marshal all day.
Thank you for your review! We are really pleased to hear that you had enjoyed the condition of the course and the greens. I am sorry to hear that you felt you had a slow round on the day and that other golfers were not following etiquette. It should normally take 4 hours to play a round here, but the course marshal should had been present, so very disappointing to hear that you did not see anyone. We appreciate the feedback and will look into ways of improving, we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Enjoyable course
Like this course because of it's variety. Haven't played the course for a couple of years but enjoyable as every and well-maintained. Greens in pretty good condition - got faster as the autumn dew evaporated
Thank you for your review and comments. We are pleased you enjoyed the course. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Incredibly slow play
Amazing course. However high green fee and I can’t help but think they overbook the course to max that out. After 4hrs 20mins I had reached hole 13. We had to abandon play because the pace was just outrageous slow.
In fairness to my above review I complained and the management were very fair and invited us back to play. As stated course is outstanding so perhaps I just caught it at a particularly bad day
Thank you for your review and comments. We are pleased you enjoyed the course. The green fees have been at this price now for the last 18 months and we are a popular course so it can be busy at certain times. We are always looking at ways to improve our experience so appreciate the feedback.
Well worth a visit
I'd wanted to play this course for ages and it didn't disappoint. Felt welcome, pace of play was great and the course was in great shape.
Thank you for your review! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Course is fine but
I have played this course three times and each time there has been an issue with kids messing about near the tied and fourth hole .One kid kicked a friends ball off the green .Another irritation is that you can’t get a bottle of water when you book in like you can at about every other course in the land. You have to queue up at the bar where other people are getting big rounds in to get a drink of water or Coke. When eventually you do get served you pay £3 for a bottle of coke which is way more than Celtic Manor or the Belfry. The course is nice and well kept but there is room for improvement in other areas.
Thank you for your review and feedback. We are always looking at ways we can improve. We are sorry to hear that you had issues with trespassers on our course. This is something which we strive to prevent. If there happens to be any issues out on the course when you play, please call the the clubhouse so we can assist. We hope to see you again soon,
Thank you for your review! We are pleased you enjoyed the course, we look forward to seeing you again in the summer!
