Fabulous course, really enjoyed it..
Although it's not the biggest around it makes great use of the ravine that runs through it.
Well worth a visit, great value.
Covid
Review low as to off course and staff friendliness as it was all locked down. Great course thinking about becoming a member here.
Poor Course
Course is poor, To me its a 9 hole course converted to 18 holes, without the land. You had to be aware of balls flying everywhere as many holes crossed each other. Such a bad layout. But that wasn't my biggest issue.
Kids running around the course, pinching golf balls, playing on the greens and pinching flags. Not to mention all the abuse from them, when all I want to do is play golf.
Hidden gem
Great little course, lots of challenges. Staff always friendly. Can’t wait to go back. Excellent value for money
Good value for money
Nice course in good condition, layout can be confusing if you’ve never played this course before think it’s the 4/9 we went the wrong way first time round ended up playing 20 holes.
Great condition, fantastic views - when youre not ducking
Booked a few days ahead, at £16 very reasonably priced for what you get. Course very well maintained, majority of the greens were in top condition (quick). They have done a good job packing in a full 18 in a relatively small area. As a result though you do get a few quirks and a fair bit of criss crossing / playing over greens etc. So inevitably a few straw shots see you ducking and diving a little. Given all that though I would play here again, the course condition was excellent, very welcoming in pro shop and even give you a little map (which you do need). Great views made this an enjoyable knock on a Sunday afternoon
Good day
Course in good condition. Greens were good also. Weather was windy and cold. Not many on so pace of play was good. Need to play more now courses are open. Did not play well. More practice needed. Still enjoyed the day.
Value in the cold
Considering the time of year (December) and how busy the course is and has been, it is in great condition. We have struggled to find courses in Manchester that have held up under the poor weather we have had over the past few weeks. However, Werneth, considering all the rain and no let-up from it, it is in great condition. Granted a few temp greens which is expected. But for the money and ability to play its well worth it and a great knock. Will visit in the summer.
The course isn't too challenging, but again, for the want to play it is a great little course.
Very windy but enjoyable day
We played on a very windy day 2 days before Christmas. The course was in good condition considering the season, winter greens were used on some holes however many real greens in operation. The course is short but tight. We also found that many holes we had the wind with included a hazard driving range away so weren’t able to take full advantage. Overall the experience was a good one, just a shame we weren’t able to have a post round pint. (Covid rules)
A friendly club and good challenge
From an initial really warm welcome, the friendliness continued around with locals and members all pleasant and helping you navigate the 'brook' and the best ways to go over it etc.
Considering the really wet conditions, the course played very well and with only a handful of 'winter greens' made for a good challenge. Winter mats required which is expected
