Proper golf course

Played Westerham last Monday, proper course with not only the signature 11th to enjoy, also the 9th & 18th which have the clubhouse overlooking and water to contend with. Only complaint £40 for a buggy extortionate as you can only drive the cart paths. But we'll be back,

Very busy and slow play

Course is stunning and staff are friendly, but it was far too busy and very slow rate of play. At times there were people on the tee another group on he green and 2 groups in the fairway.

Cracking course

Course in great condition considering the weather recently. A lot of work is being done to open some parts up, so there are some areas quite messy, but the course itself is great. Greens ran well, and layout is interesting and challenging - but still open enough to be forgiving. A four ball up ahead slowed things down slightly but still a quick enough round.

Very disappointing, staff were great, but the first thing we were told was no white tees, with bookings at a perceived 4 minute separation the pace of play was awful as we waiting from the 1st tee through to the 9th green on every shot. Taking 2.5hrs for 9 holes our day was complete especially as the 10th tee had two groups waiting. Must commend the greens as they were well above average … but Woldingham and Surrey National have been better for pace of play. Sadly I would rush back. Even for the cost it didn’t offer great value due to the pace and quality of play.

Thank you for your review and apologies to hear you had a slow round. Tee time intervals are 8 minutes and a marshal is on duty every day to keep play moving as best we can.

If you would like to return to Westerham in the future please contact us and we can suggest a tee time that would give you a quicker round.

Surprising Changes

Having not played this course for 18 months I was surprised to see that there has been substantial deforestation.

The course remains a challenge but felt that such deforestation lightened the difficulty of the course.

The greens were in excellent condition and the fairways were in reasonable condition considering the lack of rain

The woodland areas that have been cleared are designed to improve strategy of the holes and increase light and airflow to the playing surfaces which will improve their quality further.
