Fantastic course
First time playing here and won’t be the last. Everything was superb and a bargain at £20!
Good challenging course
Played this course a few times now and the staff and members are always friendly. It is a good good course and quite challenging.
Westerhope Golf Course: A Newcastle Gem
Westerhope Golf Course, located just outside Newcastle, offers a fantastic golfing experience for players of all levels. The course is well-maintained, featuring undulating fairways, strategic bunkers, and smooth greens. Its thoughtful layout makes great use of the natural landscape, creating a course that’s both challenging and enjoyable.
A standout feature of Westerhope is its welcoming atmosphere. They even allowed my wife to walk around with me during my round, which added to the overall enjoyment of the experience.
The practice facilities include a driving net and a dedicated chipping area, along with a putting green that mirrors the course’s conditions. After your round, the friendly clubhouse is perfect for relaxing, offering good food and a well-stocked bar.
With reasonable green fees and excellent value for money, Westerhope is a must-play for both locals and visitors alike.
Great condition
The course was in great condition. Greens were pretty quick, fairways solid and rough wasn't too thick that you ball would just disappear. Couple of 2 balls out so pace was just right for us.
Grand day out
First time I’ve played this course and I certainly hope to be back. Course was in great condition - very lush fairways and greens in good nick. Bunkers a bit variable and some missing rakes. People very considerate and friendly. Really enjoyed my round - grand day out
Okay
Greens were good but bunkers atrocious. Good round but not worth £25. Should be £20 at most especially at 3.30 in the afternoon
Course Conditions
The condition of the fairways, tee boxes and area around the greens was very poor. I have played the course many times but for some reason the above had not been cut for days, possibly a week. It was so bad on 2 tee boxes you couldn’t see your ball when teeing up as it was so long. The greens were in superb condition thou !!
Great course, members respect the greens!
Very enjoyable round, a very easy walking course. First nine held up by a three-ball who lost about three holes on everyone else. When let through much more enjoyable.
My one slight critique, the number of pitch marks on the greens. I have had it ingrained in me to repair them, and I was very busy during the round.
Lovely course
Great course it will continue to improve with the warmer weather, friendly pro shop, I didn’t use the bar so can’t comment on that but looking forward to playing again once it completely dries out but overall a great course
