This course was in fantastic condition.

Booked last minute on a hot deal and paid £20. Our two ball had been made into a four ball which wasn’t a problem for us but one of the lads we were grouped with was really slow and those behind us made sure we knew they wanted to be through (standing with hands on hips etc). Anyway the course was in superb nick and the greens were like glass top tables and a real challenge for an 18 handicapper. There’s a stretch of 3 par 5s which were a bit dull but the rest of the course, especially the last stretch, are a real delight. It was a beautiful sunny day which helped as the few times I’ve played before were in winter and the wind made the longer holes more like Par 6s!! Great venue and we’ll worth a visit but some of the members need to learn a few manners which isn’t unusual for more established clubs. Will definitely be back.

Great Course - Great Location

This was my 1st proper 18 hole round of gold in over 7 years. Booked 1st tee time 6am and was delighted to see the greenkeepers out in force getting the Course ready for the day. Never caught up with them so they never once interrupted play. Course is well maintained and not overly challenging but green firmness and speed are a challenge (maybe just myself not being used to the speed of greens) Would recommend to anyone who hasn't played this course before. Location is something to behold on both parts of the course wether it's looking over the town of south shields or then looking out to the coastline in all its glory. Loved every minute of it

Great Layout - Fantastic Greens

Brilliant. Friendly and Helpful staff all round - excellent layout - the lack of length is compensated very well by the course layout, it was a challenge. Greens were in excellent condition and I think they could be even better, great to see the green keepers out working hard on every hole. Thoroughly enjoyed it

Gorgeous weather at Whitburn

I do like this course and luckily the weather was beautiful.

Can’t knock it within reason except the greens were scarred and bobbly.

Wouldn’t stop me returning though

Great to be out

Quirky little gem of a course & great to be playing it. The guy in the pro shop is top class a real gentleman. Only downside is that a couple of greens are peppered with pockmarks

Great links course

Course was in great condition bar the greens which were unfortunately a bit poor. Greens are usually spot on and apparently is due to treatment which went wrong and has damaged the greens.

Love the course, especially the last 5 holes over the road. Price per round has shot up since the first time I played the course a couple of year back! All in all a good day.
