Esplanade Golf & Country Club at Lakewood Ranch

Course is good but not excellent. Green is getting bad and not doing good job on maintaining it.

I checked with golfnow regarding in sharing cart with strangers, they said no, it's not mandatory if cart fee is included.

However, I was forced to share a cart a couple minutes before tee time and divider isn't installed, we had to do that which wasn't installed properly.

Not friendly staffs!

Rude staff, particularly the starter. It seems to be a common issue for many Florida courses that unfortunately this course follows suit with. The starter acts as the face of your course and sets the tone for a golfers round, having rude/clueless staff is not the hallmark of a top tier course, take it from someone thats played across the country and the globe. Its hard to recommend or come back and play a course where your treated rudely. Having played Esplanade at Azario the previous day, I had positive expectation for the course, needless to say, this was a let down. As for the course, it was in good conditions, the green speed was good, the layout was unoriginal and posed little challenge from the tips. At the end of the day, for those who have chosen to read this, flip a coin, your odds of picking the outcome are about equal with whether you will have a positive experience. My recommendation would be to play Esplanade at Azario or another course, there are plenty of course at this price point within the area that offer more original layout, more beautiful layout, and while its hard to find, better staff. This course could simply fire their poor staff, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Title says it all. the course is fantastic. the staff is super nice. the carts are in great shape with a cool advanced GPS system. you must play here.

Course was in very good shape. Wide open layout that lets you hit the driver. Played in 3-1/2 hours as a twosome on Monday afternoon.

From a course condition standpoint I can’t think of one thing I would change. Very fair.

I was upset that my price I was told I had to pay was about $15 more than my GN and the staff person just said sorry pay up. I thought I had a contract?

I also learned I don’t like hitting warm up shots in the dark. We had the first tee time and you couldn’t see the balls once they got out over the water. That’s right the driving landing area is 95% water.

It was also my lucky pleasure to play with the 56 year old club champion. We got around in 3:40.

Nice layout in great condition. Greens are hard and fast. There's some water but it doesn't come into play on more than 5-6 holes. Wide fairways which is great for mid-high handicaps. Ill be back.

Great shape, so happy with pace of play and the conditions of the course from top to bottom. "Super fast" greens fairways w/real grass "AWESOME" course will return soon.

Forgiving fairways are wide but you better be on the proper side of the pin. My partner said that the person who made these greens was angry. Smooth and very fast.

I have been told that this was a top notch facility and it lived up to the hype. Even with it being Cart Path Only due to wet conditions the course still played perfectly. The GREENS were rolling! Layout is challenging from any box! I will be back because I left a few strokes on the course!

I love Esplanade! It’s always in pristine condition! Wide open fairways, but somewhat challenging. Friendly staff nice practice area. I love the Tiki bar it’s always one of my favorite places. My husband and I used to be able to play this course with our Paradise card, but I’m not sure what happened? I was happy to find it on Golfnow though.

With all this rain the conditions here were PHENOMENAL! Greens were fast, and even got faster as we avoided rain today. Love the layout, carts, staff and the snacks on the turn. Was an absolute steal of a hot deal, if I was closer I’d become a member. Loved it! It was cart part only, but only a few bunkers with standing water. I wasn’t in a lie all day that was bad because of conditions.

Had trouble getting a tee time the week before coming down for our annual vacation, online kept kicking me out. Called the proshop and they were quite rude. Once I was down there, tried to book 2 days out and was able to get on. Glad I did because it was a very nice course and the staff was very nice as well…guess Stacey was just not having a good day the week before. Simple wide open layout with a few nice holes but whole course was in VERY good condition. Tee to green was well kept, greens rolled well. Nice carts with GPS and water machines on course. I will be returning on next trip.

Nothing spectacular but ok.....great practice range.....beverage cart woman was great.....!
