Wide fairways
The course is in great shape and you’re treated well here. The course was very playable. Fairways are extra wide. The layout around the greens keeps not challenging.
Really Nice
Really nice golf course. Very very wide fairways, but trouble lurks with the huge bunkers, and hidden penalty areas. The course was in very good shape. Nice practice facilities with an all grass aqua range.
Rainy but nice
Played about 11 holes in light cold rain today. Had the course to myself. The course was in great condition.
Lightning fast round. Bonus of finding 55 balls today!
1st time visit
nice course, great conditions though we found the greens very inconsistent especially on the front nine. Very wide fairways so if you hit them straight you are fine but lots of water and bunkers left and right so if you spray they could be in play.
felt like we were the only ones on the course but then again it was only about 55 F so cold for the locals ( and the visitors )
Esplanade second time
Played last year and made a point of returning.
This course is a lot of fun. The fairways are very generous, but still have interesting characteristics to keep it challenging. Greens are large too.
Great conditioning.
Will be back again

About a 5-star course - in great condition with very roomy fairways - but I have to knock the overall rating down to 4-stars for
- Poor signage (to get into course, to get to bag drop, to get around the course in some cases),
- Poor cart (bad breaks and no pin location sheet),
- Drinking water in only one or two places that I recall.
Felt you need more yardage markings on sprinkler heads because you have no GPS
Beautiful challenging course
Located within a beautiful gated community this course is well designed and well maintained. The scenery is beautiful. The course will challenge the average and above golfer. Greens are quick but fair. Great value at $40
One of the best
Very happy when paying only $35 for 2.02 starting time.
As pace was fast we finished 18 holes before dusk.
Course in exelent shape.

Out standing day
This course is in very good condition and is playable for all levels of play. Greens are for the most part large so being in the correct spots on them is very important, generous fairways and pace of play was excellent, a must play!!

Best maintained course perfection. Challenging. Pace of play was slowed because a group of 16 arrived late for tee time squeezed in worked out good for them but not those behind them ....
Good layou. nice condition
One of the better courses in the Sarasota area. Well maintained and a decent layout.
Rude staff
Played this course several times. This time was not very good. Payed top dollar for this time of year. Pro shop staff was not friendly at all. The starter may have been the rudest individual I have ever encountered at a course in this area. Probably won’t go back here.
Greens are way to hard, would not hold even the highest shots.

Great course...kudos to the staff for great relationships with customers.
Bad shape
I have played Esplanade many times and admired the fact it has always been in good shape and the greens have been excellent.
However it’s been over 15 months since I played and it was a real disappointment today as the course conditions have deteriorated with some parts of the greens being almost unplayable.
Shame as this once was a jewel in the Lakewood raunch crown.
