Esplanade Golf & Country Club at Lakewood Ranch

Unfortunately the greens were recently aerated, and sand was still all over the greens. No putts rolled true, and often good approach shots went off the target. This is a GREAT COURSE and facility, and the price this time of year is significantly reduced, so I know it’s my fault for not calling and checking, as many courses do this at this time of year. However I still had a great time.

I have played this course about ten times now and have enjoyed it more each time.

It is as challenging as you want it to be based on the tees you play from.

It has a good layout and the fairways are in good shape for this time of year.

Greens are in nice shape and are a little long right now but they can get quick when cut down further, not that you have to hit it hard to get it to your target even now.

Really good course, pretty dry for all the rain we’ve had

You could not ask for a course to have better conditions

I wish my country club conditions were as good.

COURSE WAS GREAT, PRACTICE FACILITY IS INCREDIBLE.

Course was in good condition especially with all the recent rains. Pace of play slow as the slower groups refused to let faster groups through. But a great layout.

I enjoyed playing Esplanade. The fairways were perfect, the greens nice and healthy. Not very fast but it is summertime in Florida. It is more important that they are smooth and roll true which they did. The layout is friendly even though there are water hazards. I definitely will be back to play.

Course is in great shape. Lots of good challenges and you’ll use all clubs in your bag. We will definitely be back

Beautiful course well maintained. Greens are still a little sandy from punching but rolled pretty good. Not many trees on the course, wide fairways. Not to say I didn't lose any balls. Hit 3 into waste areas off the fairways could not find any of them. Great course

I played the course previously and enjoyed it so I came back.

Yes it is hot out and a lot less players out playing in the heat but there were still slow players in the front of me on the back nine. Played the front in 1.5 hours and the back was over 2 hours after I ran into players going slow.

The course is beautifully landscaped and just pretty!

The course is tough because of the wind which can blow hard at times and calm the next second. greens had been punch recently and had just a few areas that were still bumpy. Overall condition of the course was pretty good considering the time of year. I will plaay it again!

As this course has matured, it has maintained its open feeling even though there are many more housing units around its perimeter.

It almost seemed a shame to put a divot in the fairway. They and the greens were in wonderful shape. What's not to like? Especially with a Hot Deal.

Not much in the way of trees as this course was built on farmland not that long ago (2014?). I played it a number of times back then and it was kind of Streamsongish with not much build-up yet. Now homes everywhere. But they are not that intrusive. They did a good job of having them set back near landing zones.

I am a fan of scenery but even without it Esplanade is a great course.

Still in good shape compared to most places, but not the beautiful condition it used to be. Tee boxes getting worn, some weeds creeping in, sparse grass in some places. I wouldn’t pay a premium to play here. It’s worth a hot deal price but anything over $40 and there are better choices. It is super easy and a good course for your ego though. I hit the ball awful and would have been at least 5 strokes higher on any other course in Sarasota.

Nice course layout decent conditions, but staff needs some attention. Got there 30 minutes early, checked in with starter and he said he would come get us in 15 minutes to start our round early. Starter never came to get us on the putting green and never seen him again. Also at the turn stopped to get some food and the guy said they threw all the hotdogs out and there were no sandwiches to eat. Not happy!!
