About
Alhambra Golf Course has a player-friendly design that is ideal for beginners but also great for more experienced players who are looking for a quick but fun round. The layout is a shorter par-71 design at 5,478 yards. It may not be long but it offers plenty of other challenges. There is plenty of variety between the two vastly different nines. The front nine holes are fairly flat, parkland holes with generous fairways lined with trees. The beginning holes provide a good warm-up for Alhambra Golf Course's more difficult back nine where you'll have to use every club in your bag. The back sprawls across rolling terrain, incorporating elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. There are also more strategically placed bunkers on the back nine. Alhambra's 16th is the signature hole. This tricky par 5 begins with an intimidating tee shot over water in order to reach the fairway.

Long grass, long waits, short holes
Hitting out of the rough in the tee box. Long waits with some chaotic groups ahead. Short par 4s. Lots of range balls in the course leaving you a bit apprehensive as a sitting target, alongside narrow fairways and stacked holes - a bit of a shooting range. Staff was nice. I would like play twilight and play a 9 or 18 only with irons.
Home Course
Luv my guys in the morning. Bright, polite informative, and helpful with inquiries. Course plays to my abilities. I am a senior, get to use the Senior card, and each round could be my "Best" round
BUT: One drawback that I (we) have encountered the last month. The greens are neglected by the Golfers. I make it a point that my group repairs at least one ball mark, even if they can't find theirs. I usually repair those in my putting line, or the putting line(s) of my buddies. Could there be a place for Signage reminding the players to "repair a ball mark" even if they didn't create one?? But, love this facility...This is on US, maintenance crew is very good!
Greens are in rough shape
Play this course regularly but it’s been about a month or so since I last played it and the greens especially in free front 9 are in rough/bad condition. Not just people not fixing their divots, but they seem to have dry/ disease on them.
Greens were horrific. Clumpy, muddy, holes all over
Greens need cleaning
Besides a rather slow pace, the birds present a big nuisance. They are beautiful but their droppings are not. The greens are full of leaves and bird droppings
Like course, length just right
Great course, a little soggy in some low points but ok. They need to get rid of ground squirrels they are taking over some fairways
Weed weed divots
Currently in horrible condition, avoid if you plan to keep track of score. Greens are full of divots, debris, duck droppings. Good if you want to practice iron and driver games.
great place to play
The course is in great shape, except a couple of greens, such as hole #3, which the green is often bad in patches for some reason. There was one other green in mediocre shape, but all the others were great! The course overall shape was amazing considering the hot weather we have had -- few brown spots.
Staff is always very friendly and courteous!!
Great place to have a drink after 18 holes of fun!
Sam is the best caddy
He has great advice for first timer. Had a great time with my son.
Wonderful and fun muni course in SoCal
Alhambra GC never disappoints. From the opening and tight drivable par 4 with trouble left and trees right, it is a fun and exciting place to play golf.
My LA buddies and I love playing here and have went head to head from the first tee box to the 18th green on many occasions.
We love the drivable par 4s, pace of play, nice greens and dynamic layout.
Recently, my buddy drove the green on #4, made his eagle putt and the money bets got even tighter as he navigated the rest of the course with a target on his back. These are the kind of memories we will have to talk about for years to come.
Alhambra is a fun track with great golf holes and has created wonderful memories for myself and our golf group. I hope to keep playing here for the rest of my days.
