Great new course
Nice layout ...the greens were very challenging They were very undulating and fast....a real Augusta like experience.
Great layout!
Awesome layout, wide fairways, huge greens.
Multiple sets of tees so you can play from any distance you want.
Just opened but everything was very well done.
Can't wait to play it next trip to area.
Country Club course open to public
Great golf course and layout. Golf carts have the latest GPS which shows hidden hazards as well as distance to the pin. Friendly staff on hand to unload and load your clubs. You pay for what you get and you get a country club course which in a couple of years will be private.
Great new venue
What a treat to play this new (opened in Jan 2017) Arnold Palmer course. We had 6 so the Dads played together and I played with my 2 grandsons. They played from the tips and I played the Blacks. They were thrilled with the golf course and we had an awesome time.
Lakewood national
Excellent course and just brand new. Greens true but tricky. Lots of waste area and fairway bunkers but wide open fairways. Free balls at practice range. Course will be awesome in a year. Some really tough holes mid round into the prevailing south wind. Will come back definitely
NICE TRACK TO PLAY BUT NEEDS TO GROW IN
Windy day , wide fairways on most holes with forced carries over center bunkers for the most part. Plenty of water that shouldn't come into play unless you forget to look at the screen on the cart. Extensive use of waste bunkers for cart paths gets a little tiresome. Many areas where the sod has not joined completely around the green, but the greens themselves are in great shape and expansive
Lakewood National Golf Club
The Good: Brand, spanking new Arnold Palmer design in the growing Lakewood Ranch area is one of two anticipated courses in the community. Will eventually be a private club. Very fun, challenging layout has some decent elevation change for a Florida course, mixing ample fairways and tons of sand with uber-huge, difficult greens. Conditions for a course in its infancy were very impressive and the usage of waste areas throughout is unique. Par 5's are excellent, good variety in the Par 4's and tough Par 3's on the closing nine. Clubhouse is very nice and practice facility (including two hilarious putting greens) is great. Staff is very accommodating and will ensure a perfect experience. GPS on carts!
The Bad: Mostly due to it being a new club, the lack of amenities struggles to justify the hefty price tag: No restaurant, mostly sand cart paths, no restroom areas on closing nine, etc. Fair amount of blind shots. Greens can be ridiculous at times, especially if the pin placements are tough.
The Verdict: A Top 5 public course in the Sarasota area in 2 months of grand opening. Will eventually be a Top 25 public course in Florida if it doesn't go private.
Best Hole: All Par 5's are great, but the closing hole is an awesome way to end a round. A risk-reward drive over water and traps to a green guarded by water right and sand left. Great birdie opportunity!
Not yet finished
The golfcourse was in a very good condition.
To the Greens Not to difficult.
The difficulties began on the very large and demandig greens.
Employee very friendly.
Disappointing was that on the Second Nine the Restgröße did not work.

This was our first time playing this course.. This course has a beautiful layout and will definitely be a challenge for the higher handicapped players. So I'm mixed on how the average golfer will find it...You need to play it more than once since there are many blind shots and many undulations both on the course and especially the greens...some of which in my opinion were not Fair with the pin placements that day or as my professional caddie friend/player that played with me called "tricked holes".. I would def. play it again for the Golf Now price we paid but would not for the usual rack rate of $89-129.00
Great course
Great overall experience. Forgiving off the tee, but you do not want to miss the green on the wrong side. Fast undulating greens. Fairways in good condition. Pace of play wasn't too bad. I would definitely recommend.
Great Course
The course was beautiful! Loved the layout! Only thing that I have that is a bit negative was the pace of play. Had to wait on every hole. At one point there were 5 groups at on one par 5. However, I would certainly go back! It was a great course and even though I hear that Sarasota area has been in a drought, fairways were pretty green!
I would recommend it to anyone!
Great New Course in LWR
This is a great addition to several courses already in Lakewood Ranch Florida. Staff is very friendly and courteous, course is well maintained, off-course amenities are not open yet, pace of play was good on holes where the group in front of us is not 5 putting!, paired with a very nice young family, carts have very good course info with accurate pin yardages and just an overall great experience.
Lakewood National--one of the BEST in the Palmer Portfolio
Practice area is excellent-Titlest Balls on range. Course in excellent condition; wide fairways; a lot of water but not penal placements; fairways run fast; GREENS-excellent condition, very fast (11 on stimp on average, 13 down/10 up)
Lakewood National
This will be a great course when it matures. It's very forgiving and challenging. The green are extremely fast but very large. When you play using the GPS on the carts it's shows landing areas that aren't visable from the tee boxes. The pace was very slow.
