Brutal conditions!!
My favorite new course in Florida!! But, I learned a valuable lesson. Don't play if the weather forecast is calling for high winds!!! Yesterday, there were wind gusts of 35mph. The greens are so slick, these gusts played a big affect on my putting stats. Putting down wind would literally blow the ball off the green!! A missed uphill putt would end up 20ft away. Plus, the surrounding construction area caused blinding blowing sand. I thought I was back in Scotland!!
True championship layout
Beautiful layout! Some water but the real challenge is 50yds from green and in. Lots of raised greens and shaved banks and deep bunkers. Cart gps is super important and make sure you use it. Touch screen to pin to give you exact yardage cause you'll need it. The biggest greens you'll ever play, trust me. Greens are hard and bouncy now cause it's brand new. Once it grows in this will be the premier course in area . Bad golfers stay away!!! You know who you are. You have no business out here. I watched the group in front of me 5 putt consistently. And forget it if you can't hit irons in the air. The typical bump up and run won't cut it here.
Pace of play
They better get the afternoon pace of play straightened out!
When the snow birds go home they will be begging for people.
Golf as it should be
the course is very new and once it fills in will be a true gem. You can play this course from any tee and still have fun and trouble as the greens are huge and they make the course difficult. Some of the greens stretch 60 yards so a 3 putt is an accomplishment. Love it and will play it again at this price it is a deal.
Great Layout.
Although you are in effect playing in the midst of a huge construction site the course is in excellent shape. Huge greens, and undulating fairways, with some blind shots making it an interesting course to play. The layout of the course is very fair. This is one of the best, if not the best course we have played in this area. Would recommend it.
Hard Greens
New course with expected hard greens. The greens have plenty of undulations.
Why are you offering deals if not to attract buyers?
Golf course :
Great shape
Layout challenging
Pin placements put in by a person who doesn't play golf. He or she would be the first person I fired. If you are trying to sell the course and homes to the average golfer I would never play the course again. On the back nine I hit 8 out of 9 greens and shot a 42. 6ft birdie putt that ends up 25 yards off the green! Makes for a fun round. Good luck but my guess is the course is going the way of the Dodo. Would have enjoyed the round given a person who has a clue. The first thing the people at the pro shop asked when we finished was , " How did you like the pin placements? All that's missing are the windmills"
Good luck with your venture, you'll need it.
Sincerely, Kim Chapman
Great layout. Challenging course
The layout is awesome and well thought out. Challenging course but a lot of fun. In great shape
A welcomed addition to the area!
I have played this course multiple times because it gives you a true test of your skill. It is a true palmer design with large undulating greens that test your ability to land on the proper tier or you are punished. Even though fairways have a large landing area it really depends on which tees you are using. Many tee shots are blind and you should use the in-cart GPS to help select the right club. Most holes either have water or bunkers lining the fairways. The only negative I have is the pace of play! Rangers need to speed up high handicap golfers or instruct them to let faster player through! This is a must play before it becomes private.
New
Great design with the exception of some goofy greens. Greens are hard which should be expected for a new course. Windy day when we played and it played long. Overall Fun to play it will get better with maturity.
Should Be On Your Must Play List
Course (while a bit hard to locate since it's so new it's not on my Navi system) was in fabulous shape. Lots of contours on the fairways and the greens too. Staff very helpful and friendly. I'll be back again for sure.
Great new course
Excellent course, though still in startup mode, with new housing and road network incomplete. It's a challenging track, with a good assortment of tees to allow one to choose according to ability. Pace of play was a little slow, I assume due to the fact that most golfers are playing it for the first time. Greens were very firm and extremely large, with a three to four club difference between front and back placements on some greens. Touchscreen GPS in carts is excellent (unless you manage to hit the ball somewhere the cart can't go!!).
Brand new course potential to be 5 star
Challenging layout forgiving fairways with huge greens. Couldn't make a ball mark on the greens hard ground. However the course is literally open a little over 1 month. The staff was super friendly. Of course the club is so new there are no off course amenities yet. The greens had a lot of breaks. Some pretty tricky putts. I will definitely play it again as it matures.
Lost in Lakewood Ranch
GolfNow' directions are wrong. And so are Lakewood National's!!!
We spent over an hour (for a 20 minute drive) to finally reach this course!!
We missed our tee time and had to skip the 1st 2 holes to catch up with our playing partners!
Not a good day!!!
We will not return

Great new course
This new course will only get better with time. HUGE highly contoured greens are the defining factor of the really nice course. Lots of water on most holes but wide fairways make the round very enjoyable
I love it
The course reminds me of Esplanade and my favorite Sarasota National, it Is all about the greens. It has the largest greens I have ever played in over 60 yrs of golfing. In fact on the one par three we were told by the staff it takes about one hour to cut. We played at special rate of 64. And worth it for this "snowbird" season. They have rates as high as 129, not worth it IMO. I can't wait to play it in the summer when it should be under 40.
Thank you for your reply. My husband and I do not understand what a bad average golfer is. It is a contradiction in terms. You are either good average or bad. Your reply had very negative undertones that were unnecessary and rather rude. We thought the course was great, except for the carnival pin placements. We are playing the course again with friends this week and hope the pin placements were an anomoly. Judith Chapma
I agree completely. The course is set up too hard for the average bad golfer and I don't think the people that buy homes in the development are going to want to play that course over and over again
