Golfer Reviews
Greens under repair
The course is being well kept BUT there needs to be some mechanism to make people aware of when the greens are being sanded. I play here often and I appreciate how the course is being kept, but there is no way to know when they are working on the greens when booking on golf now. There should be a discount if you book on golf now and the greens are on the repair. Otherwise it’s a great course to play.
Inconsistent maintenance and course care.
Sometimes…… Greens(mowing/rolling/pace), Fairways mowing, Bunkers tilling and trimming and Golf carts sustaining power are not uniform in being maintained consistently well; more often not.
Tee boxes are very poorly maintained; most lack grass and the minimal level of care; tee markers are often placed obscurely…. Uneven ground; sandy lies and same spots regularly
Pin placements are rarely relocated and when done, It’s often to only one alternative or one so close its immaterial
The course is in great condition
The course is in great condition. You guys are doing a great job at keeping the grass cut in the fairways, and the greens are pretty good too! I appreciate the fact that the workers do not interrupt the players while they are pudding or anywhere else for that matter. I believe here pretty often and would recommend it to all.
Best Golf value
I've played Tup Holmes several times over the past 20 years. It is so enjoyable and affordable. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The course itself is fairly challenging. However, when we played the last time the course was littered with fallen trees. One big tree wiped out the cart path on number 9.
The greens often do not look completely green but they all play fast and solid.
I highly recommend Tup Holmes to hackers and duffers but it also can challenge the mid-level golfer as well.
Good Atlanta Muni
It’s a muni course in Atlanta, but for that the green’s were in good shape, and the fairways were as well.
Tee, boxes need some work, but it’s a high volume course with a lot of people new to golf. If you tee off after 8 on a Saturday it’ll be a long round.
Good Vulue - Needs Some Work
This course is a good value. Some of the fairways needed cutting. Many of the greens were bumpy. I am assuming that the harsh weather over the last week, which included strong winds/tornado nearby and heavy rains damaged the greens some.
My hope is that the next time I come back in 2 to 4 weeks, there will be some improvement. I'm not expecting a PGA course, just some improvement.
I shot 41, 45 from the blues fun old school course where you have to figure out distance!
Gas carts for the hills old trees, the place was cool, hopefully I’ll play it again
Good Value Public Course
This course is nothing fancy, but if you want to play golf for a reasonable price; this is your course.
It is nothing fancy, but gets the job done. Most of the greens are in good shape, only one green had some issues, as part of it was in disrepair.
The fairways were mostly in good shape, a few had some bare spots. I must say that this course has the nicest bathrooms of any course I have been to. There are 2 bathrooms with water fountain on the back 9.
That in itself is worth it for an older man who needs access to a bathroom periodically.
