this course was challenging
i have every intention of coming back to play, the par four's on the course were great!
Terrible Customer Service
I did not get a chance to play my round. The course double booked the round, sold it twice and told me and my friends we had to wait about an hour and a half to play. We decided to go play somewhere else and the person managing the Alfred Tup Holmes Pro shop still charges me a cancellation fee even though they could not accommodate us for the time we pre-paid for and booked. The person in the Pro Shop name was Ron was very unprofessional and was not to concerned with customer satisfaction.
Great rate
I come to this course often because of their incredibly low greens fees. The course is ok, not a difficult course, but there are a few holes where the length will challenge most any golfer. The greens seemed to be in better shape than I remember. I would recommend if you're a bargain golfer like myself and see a great price listed.
Course need attention
This is a great Atlanta historic course. It requires accuracy and distance, the greens are always in good condition. Frequent golfers and first time golfers don't get the total experience the course has to offer.
The major challenge is the maintenance of the rough and fairways. This can bring frustration of looking for balls that are in play, ( but the rough) makes it difficult to find..........
Overall fair exchange for $$$$ and experience
It's what you make it
Not complaining for the price I paid, needs a little TLC but not the best course I have played
Satisfied
Course is challening off the first three holes and beomes kinder after #3. It is open most of the rest of the course.
This course can use a lot of work but it's playable
This course can use a lot of work but it's playable
ill-equiped
cart died half way through, they had no more carts.... and it wasn't busy. got to the club house and it had happened to three other people. i will not return.
Long par 5's
This course is a little confusing to navigate but it has some long par 4s and 5s and most of the holes are pretty straight.
Check for golf carts if you want to ride
Course is in best condition I can remember. Greens are much better and fairways are nicely trimmed for most part.
If you plan to ride, wait until they replace golf carts. It will take 3 carts and lots of luck to play 18. They always run out of carts that work. It may only be 3-4 that can ride 9 holes.
Keep the pro shop number close. You will need it for rescue
Tup holmes
While playing this course the cart died on us. we had to push the cart up the hills to get to the next hole. When we ask could we have another cart he said the rest of the carts were down by the time they came around to get us our day was over. when we get back to the clubhouse it over 20 carts just sitting no working on them or nothing. No one offered us a free round or anything not away to run a business.
i'm a beginer, i like playing there because you can work on every club in your bag.
i like playing on Mondays and Fridays there, never too packed.
Good Place to Play, I like the slopes on the first two holes good attention getters.
Thye course is good for most amateurs. It provides good challenges with some tight and some open fairways. Very scoreable for the low handicappers.
great value
great old course..finally got the fairways and roughs cut to normal lengths. ...
Great price
This course is worth playing again only because the price. It is centralized in a ghetto area. This course could also use a driving range. The grass could be better maintained, as if you hit off the fairway chances are you wont find your ball. However, the greens were nice and the course is rather large, with many par 4 & 5's. Overall, good deal for the price paid.
very enjoyable
Nice condition. Very forgiven for all levels of playing. Only complaint..... carts need some oooomp. Hard to climb path in spots.
Still a Good Course BUT I am Partial......
Had a chance to play this course in early September.
The layout is great, greens were better than the last time I played there in 1995.
That said reviews are true.
I went to check it out before I was going to take my son to show him where I got my 1 lone Hole in 1 ( # 10 right outside the clubhouse downhill nasty par 3 ). Ended up going to Crystal Lake instead.
Just a shame that 90% of the city courses are finally giving into the city, and beginning to look and be taken care of like everything around them.
They really should think about bringing back the Sunday $5 for 9 holes with cart deal , back 9 only Tee off b4 8am. THAT I would go back for.
Rick
Need to cut grass more frequently.
Difficult to find ball @ times due to the high grass in the fairway. Otherwise things were great.
