About
El Prado Golf Course boasts two different 18-hole courses: Butterfield Stage and Chino Creek. Early in California's statehood, stagecoaches would make the 2,700 mile trek from St. Louis to San Francisco. The property used to be a stop on this trail, which is where the Butterfield Stage Course gets its name. It's the shorter of the two courses at 6,568 yards from the back tees. The course is flatter and more forgiving than Chino Creek, but it still has a fair amount of challenges that will test your skills. The layout has generous fairways, but watch out for the strategically placed bunkers lurking along the large, gently undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on several holes as well. The wide open nature of the course can be forgiving but at the same time it will put your round at the mercy of the prevailing winds.

TeeOff delayed and very slow pace of players
Every shot whether we are on tee boxes or fairways or hitting to greens hanging on 1-5 minutes. It delayed 15 minutes on 1st hole TeeOff. We barely finished the 18 holes for 5 and 42 minutes.
Good condition even after the rain
Good condition the fairways rough area greens bunkers everything in good shape. Great course for the price. Moved a bit slow on this day early but after the 11th hole it opened up.
Course much improved
Return to play Battlefield course and it's much improved with fast greens. Keep up the good work!!

Its a great course to play with perfect greens and its rolls with true putt.
Highly recommended for those looking
for a budget green fees especially seniors golfer who wants to walk on weekdays.
PORTA POTTY COURSE
let me start from saying the course is so bad (ALMOST LOOKS LIKE BANKRUPT COURSE) and smells SO bad i was gagging at the butterfield course (i think i was around 13 or 14th hole) IT STRAIGHT SMELLED LIKE 50 YEAR OLD PORTA POTTY....
they were so backed up my tee time was at i think 9:50 (2 sum) and wasnt called up till 10:10ish ... and the other 2 sum didnt even show up so we just tee off... FROM THE FIRST HOLE SHOULD'VE KNOWN THIS WAS GOING TO BE A LONG DAY...
there were about 4 teams backed up so we caught up to the group ahead and they ASKED if we want to play first (since there was two of us) so we thanked them and we teed off quick then we played that hole and again went to the next hole and was waiting with the group ahead of us. we were just talking and waiting for them to tee and they also again asked if we want to play before them but i said no its okay since they are all backed up (at this point i dont even know why the course marshall didnt even show up and said anything to the lagging group ahead of this one) but they said its fine to do so. so we did and then i saw it... 4 people ... walking... all over the course... WALKING... all over the place looking for their balls forever... and they drop......... dad, mom and i think two sons... omg...
and they took about 20 mins to finish par 4 hole... now this time i asked if we can go through them (not playing this hole and skip it since they were giving me the eyes lol) they let us go and remember we skipped a hole.. THERE WERE NOONE ON THE NEXT TEE BOX EVEN ON THE FAIRWAY AND EVEN ON THE GREEN .... NEXT HOLE WAS WIDE OPEN LOL so now we were happy that we can finally play on the pace..

made our tee shots and got to our balls AND on the 2nd shot ABOUT TO SWING this stupid ASIAN MARSHALL COMING IN HOT SCREAMING LIKE "DROP OUR CLUBS DONT SWING" LOL I THOUGHT THIS GUY WAS FBI OR SOMEHTING LOL HE GOT MAD AT US BECAUSE "SOME PEOPLE" CALLED AND MADE A COMPLAIN ON US ABOUT US CUTTING THROUGH THE HOLES...
i knew it was the group of snails behind us cuz other groups offered us to go in front of them even when we said we were okay to wait...
ANYWAYS SO HE TOLD ME TO PICK UP THE BALL THAT WAS IN PLAY LOL AND GO BACK TWO HOLES AND REPLAY THE HOLES HAHAHAHAHAHA THIS WAS WAY TOO FUNNY
SO WE WENT BACK AND REPLAYED THE HOLE AND THE THAT WE SKIPPED AND NOW THE GUYS WHO ASKED US TO GO IN FRONT OF THEM ASKED WHY WE ARE BACK AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY WERE ALSO DUMBFOUNDED LOL
SO THE POWER TRIPPING ASIAN MARSHALL DO NOT YELL AT PEOPLE IN MIDDLE OF THE PLAY AND TELL THEM TO PICK UP THE BALL. BEFORE YOU DO THAT PACE THE COURSE RIGHT AND GO YELL AT THE WALKERS WHO ARE SLOWING DOWN 4 TEAMS BEHIND. IT TOOK ME 5 HRS AND 24 MINS TO FINSH 18 HOLES (NOT COUNTING 20 MINS DELAY FROM THE 1ST HOLE)
IF I DO EVER GO BACK HERE AGAIN I WILL ASK FOR HIS NAME AND UPDATE THIS REVIEW.
Classic course
Love it can’t complain! Grew up on this course, it’s a classic 👍
Saturday Round
Course in good condition overall and solid spot for the teen time costs. Pace wasn’t the best or worst for mid day Saturday round. Definitely be back
Bad condition
The course is not in good condition. The greens have been punched but they also have lots of bare spots. The tees are in bad shape, lots divots looks like the rough. The course is overwatered, I had to clean my ball after every drive and shot to the green. Prices were increased but the course I worse.
