About
El Prado Golf Course boasts two different 18-hole courses: Butterfield Stage and Chino Creek. Early in California's statehood, stagecoaches would make the 2,700 mile trek from St. Louis to San Francisco. The property used to be a stop on this trail, which is where the Butterfield Stage Course gets its name. It's the shorter of the two courses at 6,568 yards from the back tees. The course is flatter and more forgiving than Chino Creek, but it still has a fair amount of challenges that will test your skills. The layout has generous fairways, but watch out for the strategically placed bunkers lurking along the large, gently undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on several holes as well. The wide open nature of the course can be forgiving but at the same time it will put your round at the mercy of the prevailing winds.

We've now played both courses at Le Prado. enjoyed both rounds.
Nice course
Butterfield Stage was a nice challenging course. Not too easy and not too difficult. We’ll definitely be back!
Greens and fairways are in good shape
I play here every week. Great afternoon rates. I like the course because it's fair, not tricked up. Conditions are good with better mowing and getting better each week. As a Senior it's enjoyable and walkable. Greens are Med fast and accept approach shots into the green real well.
Ehhhhh
Haven’t played this course in a while. Course conditions were alright but not great. The course was so packed that we had to wait 15 to 20 minutes before we even got a cart. Which put us way past our tee time. Pace of play was horrendous, I understand that people are trying to get into golf. But if you’re not that good play the proper tee box. And I forgot how bad the smell of death…… in the air across the entire course was. Probably not revisiting.
greens bumpy
Greens were bumpy and slow !! not a fun experience on the greens !!
Waiting Gsme
Course was in good condition. It took is 5.5 hours to complete the round. Pace of play was terrible. We waited over 10 minutes on the 10th tee box as the group in front of spent to much time looking for their errant balls. A marshal may help the pace.
Pace of play
Played here 2 weeks in a row and for the second time large groups were playing at a snail’s pace. Don’t get me wrong, golfing on a weekday is a gift, but respecting others’ time & having a Marshall to enforce pace would be greatly appreciated.
