About
El Prado Golf Course boasts two different 18-hole courses: Butterfield Stage and Chino Creek. Early in California's statehood, stagecoaches would make the 2,700 mile trek from St. Louis to San Francisco. The property used to be a stop on this trail, which is where the Butterfield Stage Course gets its name. It's the shorter of the two courses at 6,568 yards from the back tees. The course is flatter and more forgiving than Chino Creek, but it still has a fair amount of challenges that will test your skills. The layout has generous fairways, but watch out for the strategically placed bunkers lurking along the large, gently undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on several holes as well. The wide open nature of the course can be forgiving but at the same time it will put your round at the mercy of the prevailing winds.

A good day
Played 18 holes. Pace was excellent. Greens were good. Tee boxes were good. Never saw a marshal or a beverage cart during the round. I’d play here again.

Play on a windy day.
The fairways were good. The bunkers are not sand but hard dirt. The screens look like they where punch. On windy day course was tougher than it looks. Overall it was a good day.
Good, Long, Economical Golf Course
This is a great course for the money. Nice long fairways. Some patchy spots with more dirt than grass, but given the heat, they are doing a pretty great job. The greens could use a little more work though. They are a little bumpy, sandy and SLOW!
All in all a great day for $50!
Smelliest golf course in CA!
Many of the holes border a factory emanating horrible odors that ruined the round. Like walking in an outhouse or cat urinal you cannot get out of! Many other holes border a waste land that appears to be a buried waste landfill. I would never golf here again!

watering
Many areas of the course are not getting water Nobody obviously checks to see if irrigation is working properly. Mostly weeds in many fairways not taken care of. All of the greens have others grasses growing into them, they need to edge the greens to keep them. Traps have grass growing in them. None of the trees are weedeated around, should be done and roundup applied to keep area neat.

In good shape
course was in very good shape considering all the heat we've had lately. I did wish the cart lady was around more since water is t available due to covid. Other than that, greens were receptive and roll true.
