El Prado Golf Courses - Chino Creek
About
El Prado Golf Course in Chino offers two 18-hole courses, Chino creek and Butterfield Stage. Chino Creek is the longer of the two at 6,858 yards from the back tees. It is also considered more challenging but both are player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. As its name would imply, the Chino Creek runs along the entire length of the golf course. You find water in several different forms throughout the course including lakes and meandering streams. The layout is spread across rolling terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Several of the holes begin from elevated tees and it's likely you'll face more than one uphill battle. Trees and bunkers also come into play but the fairways are wide and forgiving. It's not an overly difficult golf course but beginners can also try the shorter and less challenging Butterfield Stage Course.

3.5 stars overall (Chino Creek)
I'll try and keep it simple.
1. Generally as a course 3.5 stars
2. Pace of play was excellent due to it not being busy. We finished in about 3 hours 45 min.
3. Course conditions were sub par compared to the courses around the area. Most tee boxes were fair. Most of the fairways were fair to good. All greens were fair. Greens rolled at about a 7-7.5. tall and thick. Understandable to protect them from the heat but still a bit too soft and slow. Greens should roll at least 9. Practice greens (8.5) did NOT match course greens.
4. Staff interaction was minimal and no cart girl.
5. I think the course was fun and would be excellent with better conditions.
6. Carts were poor. They did the job, but squeaky and loose steering wheel. Very harsh ride. I wouldn't trust a magnetic range finder to stay on.
I would only play here again when there is a hot deal. Full price rounds are not worth in my opinion unless course conditions improve. Currently it's a $45 or less value course.
Best Conditions of the Summer
We played at 5:30 am and were the first ones out. Thank you to the green’s keepers for making the course so beautiful this summer. We had a great time and we’re through in 2 hours and 30 minutes. Congrats to the whole staff of El Prado Chino Creek!!
Hello. We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing El Prado Golf Courses - Chino Creek.
Nice course that you can challenge every club.
Nice course with a good mix of par 5s and 3s . Good challenging layout with doglegs and other stroke costly hazards. Nice green picturesque holes,. You can use and challenge every club in your bag. Only complaints ; low and intense electrical wires, loud firearm shooting range that’s audibly annoying on front nine. Other than that greens in beautiful condition, fairways nice, tress beautiful.
Bang for your buck
El Prado is my home course and it never fails to provide good conditions and amenities. First time with a morning tee time since it’s cheaper at night but still a great day.
Greens and fairways are in good shape
Always like playing either course at El Prado early am. Most of the time I can get in a 3-3.5 hr round, even when I’m walking and carrying my bag. Course is in great summer shape, very playable. Greens were rolling well.
Awesome golf on a hot day
No muddy puddles like I've seen in the past. No flies or mosquitos. I lucked out I guess it was awesome instead of medicore. The bunkers could have been better. I prefer Chino Creek over Butterfield btw. Less than 4.5 hours.
Chino Creek
Nice course very walkable with cooler temperature. Greens in decent condition.
Course is in very good condition
This is always a fun track- with enough challenges to keep it interesting. The fairways are in very good condition. The greens are always top notch and roll true.
The pace of play was very good today- done in just under 4 hours !!
Excellent layout
Haven't played out here in a while, but my friend picked over 3 other possible courses. Friendly accommodating staff and layout of the course didn't disappoint. The pace of play on the front was average but had about a 30 min. wait at the turn and then the pace was below avg the rest of the way. Greens overall were good but slow. Friend got a hot dog and coke at the turn and the way he ate it, he liked it or was very hungry. Temps got a little warm strarting at ten being in low 80's and finishing about 4 1/2 hrs later at 94. Still an overall good day, and do plan to play here again.
Good value
I like to complain about below;
Dirty and bad condition of golf carts
Too rough and dirsty cart paths.
Please fix these then your course be great.
