El Prado Golf Courses - Chino Creek
About
El Prado Golf Course in Chino offers two 18-hole courses, Chino creek and Butterfield Stage. Chino Creek is the longer of the two at 6,858 yards from the back tees. It is also considered more challenging but both are player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. As its name would imply, the Chino Creek runs along the entire length of the golf course. You find water in several different forms throughout the course including lakes and meandering streams. The layout is spread across rolling terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Several of the holes begin from elevated tees and it's likely you'll face more than one uphill battle. Trees and bunkers also come into play but the fairways are wide and forgiving. It's not an overly difficult golf course but beginners can also try the shorter and less challenging Butterfield Stage Course.

Golfer Reviews
If you’re playing a round and plan to eat a hot dog at the turn: please read
Course was overall in good condition and greens were good too. Pace actually flowed well but when it came to the turn and we wanted to just order hot dogs, it nearly took like 20 minutes we had to let a couple groups pass so we wouldn’t hold up the pace. The groups that passed us frequently played at El Prado and they said we need to call the snack shop like at the 7th, 8th hole and order ahead - yikes!!!
So if you plan on eating at the turn, get the number to the snack shop and take a pic of the menu and call in your order like at the 7th or 8th hole - they do cook the food well, toast the buns, they split the dog and make sure it’s cooked thoroughly - so I am grateful for the care - so I’m just giving y’all a heads up - lol, the hot dogs are delicious but takes a good minute for them to cook it lol
Good time to play but…
Had a fun round today on the Chino Creek course and the pace picked up after the second hole. Course is in great condition for this time of season - got some barren spots here and there but the fairways are in good condition and the greens I’d say are in good condition, felt like medium firm so you can be aggressive on your chips. And rolled at a nice speed, not slow nor fast.
Only thing I can strongly recommend is that before you tee off, see if you and your group are going to eat some food at the turn - if so, take a pic of the menu at the snack bar and get the number - call your order in when you get to the 8th hole, trust me.
Best Conditions in Months
We played first thing in the morning as a twosome. The conditions were absolutely fantastic. The tee boxes were plush the fairways were more plush than usual and the greens were fantastic. The pace was great in the entire day was a fantastic perfect 10. Thank you El Prado for keeping high standards on this great golf course.
5 1/2 hours!
The course was in good condition, greens were tight, cool layout, but groups of 6 on tee box?! Give me a break. Almost 6 hours to finish 18 holes. This place was backed up big time. I won’t be returning unfortunately 95% hack job players that should be at top golf come here and ruin the game for actual players

Practice your chipping , Fast Greens.
Fun course, worth every penny. Can become very challenging very fast. Worst score of my life!
Good pace of play on a weekend….
I played the Chino Creek course on a Sunday around 230p.
Course was in good shape. Played in 4.25 hours. Staff was friendly. No complaints and I look forward to playing this course again.
Too Many People on Course
The front nine was good conditions with average amount of players. It was completed in about 2 hours. Then when we hit the back nine it was ridiculous. There was a three group backup. There was no Marshall to be found. It took 1 hour to play 10-11. So after that we had to jump to 15 to get away from the slow groups. Finished the back in 2 hours but had to skip the holes across the street.
Please hire a Marshal who will actually help slow play.
The Marshall you have now just picks up cans and doesn’t talk to golfers.

No marshall
I enjoy playing at El prado but lack the marshall assistance. Had a young group drinking and playing very slow. Was very frustrating. They would take forever the tee tee off, have a get together at the fairway and not hit the ball and take forever when they are on the green they were driving over tee box and seriously drunk. Ruined my day of golf

Best I have ever seen this course !!!
I have been golfing El Prado for 20 years and have NEVER seen the course in this good of shape !!
Fairways are defined and lush with very few bald areas. Greens are good as always- smooth and roll true.
Slow play, a Marshall can help speed up play
Played on a Sunday. Greens recovered nicely from being aerated. Fairways were in satisfactory to good, had some barren spots but overall I’d say good.
Pace was terribly slow. The group in front was a two group party, and they lacked some golf etiquette. On some holes they would hit a second shot cause they just duffed their first ball. A Marshall seriously would of helped but not one was seen throughout our round. At the end on the 18th, the group in front left their cart in the front left of the green. Seriously just trashy people. Our round ended up being 5hrs and 45 min.
If it wasn’t for the two group party, the round would of been close to perfect.
staff friendiness
I was there before 20 min tee time to get the cart. but he denied and asked me to wait 10 min. I explained him that I need it now so I can go to my car and get my club. but he denied again and told me very unkindly. I come to play 4 to 5 time a week and this is the first time to be treated badly.
Needs a marshal to help with pace
Course fairway is decent, got some dirt patches here and there but for the most part, it’s green. Bunkers is hard dirt. Greens are in great conditions I’d say, just recovered from being aerated and rolled pretty true to its line - don’t know the actual stimp but for me, it had a medium/fast roll, which I like.
When Our group tee’d off, the starter said we should finish just under 5, but the 2 groups in front of ours had other plans and just held up play, ended up being a 5 hr and 40 min. So I think a Marshall would of helped. We tee’d off at 1 PM and the sun had set when we finished. I played the weekend before at Westridge and tee’d off at 2:52 and end at the 17th.
