El Prado Golf Courses - Chino Creek
About
El Prado Golf Course in Chino offers two 18-hole courses, Chino creek and Butterfield Stage. Chino Creek is the longer of the two at 6,858 yards from the back tees. It is also considered more challenging but both are player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. As its name would imply, the Chino Creek runs along the entire length of the golf course. You find water in several different forms throughout the course including lakes and meandering streams. The layout is spread across rolling terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Several of the holes begin from elevated tees and it's likely you'll face more than one uphill battle. Trees and bunkers also come into play but the fairways are wide and forgiving. It's not an overly difficult golf course but beginners can also try the shorter and less challenging Butterfield Stage Course.

Great place to play
Enjoyed a great round of golf with my son the starter was very friendly and got us out on time we were not pushed the course was in great shape and we enjoyed the day.
Literally Stinks (of cow dung)
Our first time playing the Butterfield course. The greens were nice but the fairways were patchy and bare in some parts. The course is pretty short but playable. The major complaints I had were the miserable pace of play (just shy of 6 hours) and the unbearable stench of cow manure on at least 4-5 holes. I’m not that sensitive, but the smell was so bad it was hard to breathe. I would not play this course ever again. I would like to note that everyone who worked there were kind, thoughtful and overall fantastic.
Very slow play
Quit after 9 as the pace was just way too slow and it was blazing hot.

Average course but pace of play was TERRIBLE
Your typical muni type course. Nice that it has 36 holes available to play. Not too much trouble to get into as the fairways are wide and have plenty of bailout spots. Greens were in good condition. Bunkers need a little more sand and need to be raked...were too compact. The area is prone to a lot of wind so take it into consideration on your club selection. Only real issues was the pace of play. It was painfully slooooooow. I waited on every single tee box for at least 5-10 mins (minimum). We often found ourselves stacked up 3 groups deep on each teebox. Hard to keep your focus and body limber waiting that long.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
