El Prado Golf Courses - Chino Creek

About
El Prado Golf Course in Chino offers two 18-hole courses, Chino creek and Butterfield Stage. Chino Creek is the longer of the two at 6,858 yards from the back tees. It is also considered more challenging but both are player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. As its name would imply, the Chino Creek runs along the entire length of the golf course. You find water in several different forms throughout the course including lakes and meandering streams. The layout is spread across rolling terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Several of the holes begin from elevated tees and it's likely you'll face more than one uphill battle. Trees and bunkers also come into play but the fairways are wide and forgiving. It's not an overly difficult golf course but beginners can also try the shorter and less challenging Butterfield Stage Course.

The place to go for overbooking
They overbook the daylights out of this course. The gameplay is so slow and this isn’t the first time. I can appreciate they are looking to make a profit but it has gotten to the point of affecting the entire experience. Also the price for what you get really doesn’t match up. Will look elsewhere for golf.
Not much has changed in 45 years
Played here many years ago and it was good to return. The only course I have played in Orange County that Ive found has grass on the driving range. That is much better for practice. The course is still ok to play. Greens are good as are the bunkers with enough sand to make some shots. People still don't know what a rake is for. Bad golfer manners. Grass in fairways can be a bit sparse but it is winter and much is dormant. Greens were ok and held well. All in all I enjoyed to course and the players I got hooked up with. Will play again.
Decent Sunday Round
Hot Deal for $50 @ 10:50 on a Sunday.
Was right at about 5 hours (expected after teeing off 10 min late). Fair conditions all around. Some greens were rougher than others. Overall for $50 on a late morning tee time is not too shabby.
Good to see improvements, please continue
Good value for regular local customers. Especially senior golfers
Fun Track
Always enjoy playing El Prado courses. Greens are usually very nice, firm and fast, and yesterday was no exception. Pace of play at 651 am was fast, never waited for a shot. Another great round of golf in Chino.
Put some $$ into this place
Been coming here since early 80s. And since then its basically the same except for the removal of livestock and flies . Finally after at least 15yrs they got some decent carts. Now that this place is charging $70+ to play here I think they should be able to afford some cart paths that are paved . Hole #2 on Creek has a massive sink hole. Both courses were packed and there were at least another 100people on range and putting greens.
Spend the $$.
Nice course
Took advantage of a Hit Deal. Was able to pay for $29/person
Great value
Some Improvements at Chino Creek
There are some improvements since I last played here 4 years ago (Haven’t played here due to the poor conditions) and the round was enjoyable. The greens were ok and sometimes fast but inconsistent. Fairways were ok, tee boxes inconsistent as were the bunkers. Overall however the course has in fact improved and is now playable and I can see myself coming back again.
It’s okay about value of the money but restrooms are not useable.
Fun Round of Golf
No complaints. Staff was friendly, as they usually are. Course was in good shape for the price paid. Pace was good.
For the price this is a consistently good course.
Great Winter Conditions
This is a great course to play this winter.
Many courses are in poor shape at this time of the year. The tee boxes were good. The fairways were great. The greens ere also good recently were punched so they still show that. This takes most of the breaks out of most greens. The pace was perfect. Overall a great morning!!
Slow pace due to unnecessary "tournaments"
These people book multiple tee times to play as a group or a tournament of their own type of deal. They're drinking as they play, playing very slowly of course. If the course is going to let them book this way, let them play like it's an actual tournament. Atleast know that there are rules to pace of play. If we ended up playing the last 3 holes, it would've been a 6 hour round. We had to walk out of the course because the "tournament" in front was having a blast drinking their life's away.
Fun course to walk
Good course and fairly long when it’s cold. Fairways were average, but greens in great shape. Pace of play was super fast. Definitely a re-do.
