Green River Golf Club
About
The beauty of the Santa Ana Canyons surrounds Green River Golf Club in Corona. The club originally had two 18-hole courses but they have been combined to form one massive, sprawling golf course. Although it is surrounded by hills and valleys, the course itself is mostly flat, making it a good round for high handicappers. The fairways are wide and forgiving, making it even more player friendly for beginners. There are still many challenges in store on this golf course though, including a number of river and creek crossings and strategically placed bunkers. The Santa Ana winds that sweep across the course can often make reaching the greens in regulation quite tough and the abundant trees, while providing a scenic and secluded atmosphere, also add to Green River Golf Club's difficulty.

Hole 11 Photo submitted by gbjunior on 05/18/2013
SLOW, desperately slow round on Friday
Chronically slow. Terrible.
3 holes per hour - for 5 hours - got us to the 16th.
Hugely backed-up for many holes ahead - and no course marshall to sort the big problem.
Greens mostly in good condition, fairways rough and with dried earth patches, - pathways mud and broken concrete mostly.
Avoid this course.
True Greens
The greens are in the best shape that I have experienced here!
Good greens, poor fairways
Rough and earthy fairways (for the most part) spoilt this otherwise nice and fairly easy course.
The concrete paths for carts are in poor condition - and often are dirt tracks, sometimes quite muddy.
Greens are in good condition - the saving grace of my round here.
I'll not be returning.
You get what you pay for
The course isn’t going to wow you, but if you are looking to get out and slap it around, this course provides everything you need.
Fun and challenging areas throughout the round. Course was in above average shape and greens were rolling better than expected
Interesting fun layout
Watch out for loud trains. Right next to main line. Interesting design and fun course to play. Price is right after 1 pm but you will not finish before dark. Fairways very thin and ball rolls out. Greens very good and roll true.
New and Improved
They have done a very nice job of improving this course since our last visit. Hats off to the management and greenskeepers. Will play again very soon.
Too Many Twosomes and Singles
Course allows too many twosomes and singles between foursomes. Our foursome continually had to wait for a single or twosome to pass. The course needs to group these together. Very frustrating round.
Good Course, Good Value….
Played Green River on a Friday, twilite, for <$30. Based on expense this course met or exceeded my expectations.
The course condition is very good, especially the greens, which were in extremely good shape. Fairways and tee boxes are in good shape as well. Bunkers weren’t the best, but for the money they were tolerable. Again I paid <$30, so I wasn’t expecting conditions to be immaculate,
Pace of play was decent, 4.5 hours, but could be improved upon. I didn’t buy any food or drink so I don’t have any comment on that, other than we did see the beverage cart a couple times.
One thing that stood out was the people who were working that day. Pro shop attendant was courteous and friendly. The starter was as nice of a starter as I’ve encountered in quite awhile. Friendly and talkative to everyone that he interacted with while I was waiting to tee off. Seemed like he genuinely enjoyed working there and it reflected in his attitude.
No complaints about my recent round there and look forward to going back.
Green River
Good course. Finding your ball difficult due to leaves but not a deal breaker.
Gr
Decent condition and need to be aware of the drought as likely to be the issue. Sand traps need sand to be a sand trap
