Green River Golf Club
About
The beauty of the Santa Ana Canyons surrounds Green River Golf Club in Corona. The club originally had two 18-hole courses but they have been combined to form one massive, sprawling golf course. Although it is surrounded by hills and valleys, the course itself is mostly flat, making it a good round for high handicappers. The fairways are wide and forgiving, making it even more player friendly for beginners. There are still many challenges in store on this golf course though, including a number of river and creek crossings and strategically placed bunkers. The Santa Ana winds that sweep across the course can often make reaching the greens in regulation quite tough and the abundant trees, while providing a scenic and secluded atmosphere, also add to Green River Golf Club's difficulty.

Hole 11 Photo submitted by gbjunior on 05/18/2013
The pace of play was excellent. We finish the game in about 4 hours.
This time might not be normal for the fact that we played on Mother's day.
We might play on a regular weekend and see how the pace go
The course started bad first green bare dirt in places.
But the rest of the greens are in descent shape punched about 2-3 weeks ago. Fairways average for drought conditions. We had a good time. Might play it again sometime.
Pace of Play not worth price of admission
Based on course condition (greens in bad shape, etc.) and pace of play with no Marshall enforcement, our foursome decided to end our round when we arrived at hole 13 to a foursome on the tee and backup of 3 foursomes waiting to tee off. Aside note is that you pass the club house after hole 12 and apparently a lot of people must decide to stop and eat, bathroom break etc. at inadequate facilities capable of keeping pace of play moving causing what looked like 20 minute waits for holes 13-18. That's like adding an additional hour plus to your round. No thanks, never again for me. It's a middle of the week twilight practice course at best!
Stay away
Driving range closed, pro shop doesn’t even tell you where to get carts or any course info. Why even have a pro shop? Everyone pay online and just show up. 25 min back up to start. Saw a group of 8 holding up the back nine. The amount of rocks/boulders in bunkers is unreal. The first green is a big red flag of how this course is being ran and managed. Put in a temporary green and get it right. More sand/dirt on the green than the bunkers. How do you charge $60 for this?. Pace of play was 5 hours 40 minutes. A joke.
Good value interesting course
Played in the afternoon and lots of wind. Many interesting and challenging holes. Front nine greens had recently been punched and made putting more difficult since ball got knocked off line. Greens overall were rather slow.
Definitely an overall nice course to play with pleasant views. Loud freight trains run by now and then but not a big deal.
Poor service, poor condition
Booked a 4 some at 6:24 AM. 6:15 was the first tee time. The pro shop attendant didn’t arrive until 6:15 and took another 10 minutes to open the shop. Ended up having to pay $51 each for 3 senior golfers. Their regular senior rate is $41. Never book through Golfnow again.
The course is in poor shape. Greens were punched, no heads up on that. Better not have a bad back if you’re riding in a cart it’s so bumpy.
Green River Golf Course
The course is in good shape, priced right and the staff is friendly. Nice place.
