Green River Golf Club
About
The beauty of the Santa Ana Canyons surrounds Green River Golf Club in Corona. The club originally had two 18-hole courses but they have been combined to form one massive, sprawling golf course. Although it is surrounded by hills and valleys, the course itself is mostly flat, making it a good round for high handicappers. The fairways are wide and forgiving, making it even more player friendly for beginners. There are still many challenges in store on this golf course though, including a number of river and creek crossings and strategically placed bunkers. The Santa Ana winds that sweep across the course can often make reaching the greens in regulation quite tough and the abundant trees, while providing a scenic and secluded atmosphere, also add to Green River Golf Club's difficulty.

Played Weekday Twilite and Finished in <3.5 Hours
Course is in decent shape better than it’s been in awhile. It’s still a little rough at some points, but for &30-$35(including cart), it’s about what should be expected. All the staff was friendly. Price is reasonable. Pace of play was great. 18 in just under 3.5 hours
It’s a decent source and I’d play here again.
Green river under drought California
Course was tired! First green terrible. Played this course many years ago and was in much better condition then.
Slow! Hate to wait.
The course was O.K. And that's O.K. because I only expected O.K. The problem is the COVID bourn golfer. The golf industry has been pushing the "Go Play" advertising campaign since the courses reopened. The campaign should be "Learn to swing, practice at the range, then go play." The result of the COVID golfer is extremely slow play, no respect for other golfers, unraked bunkers, unfixed ball marks and frustrating rounds for golfers that have been playing for years. It's ruining the game. We waited on every shot. It's a joke. The fun is slowly being sucked out of the game we love. These new golfers have no clue about etiquette or respect for the golfers behind them. I get it. More business is better for the industry. It's killing the game. There is a reason the PGA has a clock to prevent slow play. Nothing more frustrating than watching a player in front of you on the first tee take two or three swings without making contact. Or only moving the ball a few feet. Or hitting several balls until they hit one they like. And laughing like everyone watching is amused. We're not, and never will be. Learn to play before screwing up other people's rounds that have already put their time in at the range. Golf is suffering. Slow play is ruining the game I have loved for years. And no, 30 years ago when I started I didn't run to the course and slow others down. I was taught and went to the range. I started at 9 hole courses and par 3's. The industry needs to push practice, etiquette and respect.
Hidden Gem
This course is a hidden gem because no one can see it from the 91 Fwy.
The layout is wide open and the fairways are fairly wide.
You play the first twelve holes on the front side before making the turn and the back six are a pleasure to play.
The course plays fairly "cool" even if the temperature says 83° (probably due to the fact that it's covered by trees and is on somewhat of a valley.
My only rub against this place is getting around in your cart.
The grounds are cart ways can be a bit gruelling & bumpy, but other than that - the greens are in pretty great shape and you will enjoy your round.
I hesitated in making a review because I wanted to keep this a "hidden gem" but the owners deserve a very positive review and whatever business comes from this.
Didn’t open club till 25 minutes after tee time
Our tee time was at 6:06 and they didn’t open the course till 6:30! We didn’t end up teeing off till 6:50 it was the worst delay I’ve had and the reason I booked such an early time.
I like the calmess of this cours
It was very windy, but it;s not their fault lol
I like to play at Green River because this place has less noise than most of the public course are not.
Green River
Green River Golf course was in great shape today, tea boxes, fairways, greens were a pleasure to play. Please keep up the good work.
just what I wanted
it was a good day here. weather was nice and pace of play was extremely fast for a weekend. A little bumpy of a cart ride, but overall not too shabby.
nice
We love this course cause we can play earlier than schedule time, also place is wide open , don't need to worry someone might hit you with balls. price is reasonable for our budget. Only thing is need some repair on pavement area and we have to drive about 30 min. to get here!
Waste of money
The starter was awesome, which was the only good thing about this course. The rest of the staff looked like they just don’t wanna be there and acted accordingly. No Marshalls anywhere to be found, there was a 6 man group with 4 bags of clubs ahead of us all over the course drunk acting like fools - they picked up their friends in the parking lot after the first hole. Made a call to the clubhouse and they couldn’t care less. I’ll never go back and suggest the same to anyone reading this.
