Green River Golf Club
About
The beauty of the Santa Ana Canyons surrounds Green River Golf Club in Corona. The club originally had two 18-hole courses but they have been combined to form one massive, sprawling golf course. Although it is surrounded by hills and valleys, the course itself is mostly flat, making it a good round for high handicappers. The fairways are wide and forgiving, making it even more player friendly for beginners. There are still many challenges in store on this golf course though, including a number of river and creek crossings and strategically placed bunkers. The Santa Ana winds that sweep across the course can often make reaching the greens in regulation quite tough and the abundant trees, while providing a scenic and secluded atmosphere, also add to Green River Golf Club's difficulty.

Could be in better shape
Haven’t played since there were 36 holes. Greens were small and in decent shape. Tee boxes were decent, there’s basically no rough in terms of long grass so there’s a lot of bare dirt. Tough course to walk due to distance between green and next tee box. Overall just happy to get out to play.
Tired
Hadn’t played there in 8 years. The place has gone so far done hill. Driving the cart was like driving thru a war zone. Not worth the cost of the playing there.
Green River Golf
Great Pace of play today, round over in about 4 hours. Several greens in really bad shape and lots of fairway bare spots as well. I know they have had a lot of construction going on, but not all the problems are near where the construction is. Still a good value though.
What has happened to Green River?
It is quite evident that money is not being invested in the golf course. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in bad shape. Hundreds of squirrel/gopher holes dot the landscape.
A little rough
I really wanted to like Green River. A lot of the reviews have been very critical. The course is in rough shape. To be fair, without knowing much my guess is that this is partially due to the freeway widening and construction- I don’t know. I hope things improve because I did like parts of the routing and this course could very well turn around.
Bushwood
The squirrels have taken over. Just like gofers from Caddyshack the course is full of holes. No grass in fairways. Some greens are in good shape but most have serious damage. Not sure if they are just waiting to die or if someone can come in and rebuild this place. Other options in area that are better.
Worst Course Ever
Worst course in my experience of golfing and I've golfed at almost every course in OC. Everything between the tee box and the pin is in horrible condition. Squirrels have torn up the fairway
Not maintained at all...even after just re-opening all 18
You would think with 9 holes being closed for several months they would have fixed some of the conditions. They didn’t. The course isn’t maintained at all. Dirt mounds in fairways, leaves everywhere, greens torn up and dead grass tee boxes. No Marshall or starter and guy in clubhouse who refuses to talk. Too bad because it’s a great location bordering the IE and OC.
You get what you pay for - barely
The course is very flat and bumpy with lots of spotty areas off the fairways. Some greens have quite a few brown patches on them.
Full on sucked!
GolfNow sent me a conformation number and called the course the day before. And guess what the course didn't have our tee time because GolfNow is a third party and never made the time. Tee time @ 8:30 was in someone name beside mine.
