Green River Golf Club
About
The beauty of the Santa Ana Canyons surrounds Green River Golf Club in Corona. The club originally had two 18-hole courses but they have been combined to form one massive, sprawling golf course. Although it is surrounded by hills and valleys, the course itself is mostly flat, making it a good round for high handicappers. The fairways are wide and forgiving, making it even more player friendly for beginners. There are still many challenges in store on this golf course though, including a number of river and creek crossings and strategically placed bunkers. The Santa Ana winds that sweep across the course can often make reaching the greens in regulation quite tough and the abundant trees, while providing a scenic and secluded atmosphere, also add to Green River Golf Club's difficulty.

Hole 11 Photo submitted by gbjunior on 05/18/2013
Nice day to golf
Great weather for golf. Course is temporarily having you play 9 holes twice due to construction.
1st hole green is under repair. Overall, course is good and challenging. Took over 5 hours to play 18 holes on a Tuesday. . No Marshall to monitor pace of play. Usually the pace is better.
Check in was easy.
Four-some group in-front had no idea how to play and no idea of how keep pace always looking for their balls with no care what so ever about people behind them.
A bit of a hot mess!
The course is a mess at the moment because of some railroad construction. You play 1 and 2 and then jump to 12, play to 18 and start over on the same holes. For being a mess I have to say on 9 to 18 the greens are in excellent shape, Better than our CC!
Would be nice if there was a starter regulating play but we thinned out after a few holes. All in all it was fun and when the course is put together again I would give it another try.
Pay for something else.
It’s cheap because it’s only 9 scramble holes(1-2 then 12-18) and they are in horrible condition. The pro shop worker was pretty rude and didn’t give much help. No starter at the beginning to help either. Seems like it’s going out of business. Go spend you $25 on a driving range or pay $15-$25 bucks more to play on a real course. Waste of a morning today
All Bad
Only 1-3 and 13-18 are open so you have to play them twice around. Greens were all chewed up. Bar was closed. Pro shop barren. They appeared to have scheduled tee times as if they had 18 holes open which was not the case. This caused everyone to be stacked up 2-3 groups deep at each tee box. I've played here before and beside the cart dying on 14, it was a good time. It's gone way downhill since then. I don't think they can call covid the culprit since other courses in the area are open for business as usual.
Bait and switch
Made reservations for $29 on Golf Now. it said that would be playing same 9 twice. I had no problem with that. When got there the course first said it was $56 I said it was $29 on site. They said that they open the other 9 so instead of playing same 9 twice would play 18 holes. I said I paid to pay 18 holes it should not matter if 9 twice or 18. They reduced to $42. I paid it since i was there already but did not think it was fair. Also the course needs a ton of help. The 1st great was more dirt than grass. Several greens very similar. Lots of dirt patches on fairways and the sand traps were unplayable. I use to love this course when they had 2 18 holes but the last couple of times I played the course has been a disaster. And as I said not happy with the increased fees.
Not worth it
The front 13 holes are in bad shape back 6 are decent. But looks nothing like the pictures on golf now
Great course in Corona.
Green River is one of my personal favorites. The holes are set up in a great LONG layout with very few par 3 holes. I suggest you ride. This course is set against an amazing hillside backdrop and there are generous boundaries for beginners. There are multiple tee choices on all the holes and bunkers in all the right places, making it a challenging but fun experience each time. The course is covered in trees that give the players multiple socially distanced shade locations and with an open cooler policy, you can picnic in style. The fairways are decent, they have patches of longer grass in some places that create an uneven play structure on a hole by hole basis but overall they are kept up well. The greens are demons. I cannot stress enough that it is impossible to read the greens, but this just adds to the challenge and fun. Remember that the dreaded snowman can be your best friend, when there are multiple 500+ par 5 holes.
Dry
I like this course it’s not the greatest but I do like the layout and it is a little challenging as Most holes aren’t straight away fairways .. 2nd time playing here and I’ll be back .. there are a few dry spots but not horrible..
Not a real golf course!
Only half a golf course! Greens were garbage! Bunkers were like wet gravel! I would never play here again even if you paid me too!!!!
Course condition
Poor poor course condition greens are bad some greens actually had dirt patches and bunkers were hard as rocks with no sand. Tee boxes were all beat up and patches with long grass thick as ruff. Just over all bad bad bad condition!
Green River
Course is under construction wasn’t able to play the whole course you only played hole 1 and 2 then you play 12 through 18 and you had to go back and start all over again to finish 18 holes. this was never put on the website was very disappointed. We should be informed by golf now of the course conditions before purchasing tee times. Greens were bad they had a couple of greens with holes in the greens I would not recommend playing this course. This course need a lot of work.
