Green River Golf Club
About
The beauty of the Santa Ana Canyons surrounds Green River Golf Club in Corona. The club originally had two 18-hole courses but they have been combined to form one massive, sprawling golf course. Although it is surrounded by hills and valleys, the course itself is mostly flat, making it a good round for high handicappers. The fairways are wide and forgiving, making it even more player friendly for beginners. There are still many challenges in store on this golf course though, including a number of river and creek crossings and strategically placed bunkers. The Santa Ana winds that sweep across the course can often make reaching the greens in regulation quite tough and the abundant trees, while providing a scenic and secluded atmosphere, also add to Green River Golf Club's difficulty.

Hole 11 Photo submitted by gbjunior on 05/18/2013
First review I’ve ever done
Was told 18 holes we’re open got there only 9.
Nothing open to even grab a water .
Coarse horrible shape from tee to green .
I’ve played green river prob 50 times will NEVER go back .
Poor conditions
I played this course several times lately. The course only open 9 holes due to the construction nearby. They aireated the greens last week without proper rolling. As a result, the greens were very rough. The ball bounced badly when putted without efforts. The first hole green was totally unacceptable, with only about 1/3 of it having grass on.
40 years first review
I have never reviewed anything but had to do green river coarse . Coarse un playable , nothing open to drink or eat . There just taking people’s money very sad been playing there along time .
Just had to get heads up out there do not play here !!
Best Deal in OC & IE
I usually play this course by myself at 1
+I love. It. When I am added to another group I always meet friendly people. I love the variety and different elevations of the course. In the fall & winter the leaves in the rough provide an additional challenge.
They were an hour behind on tee times.
They were an hour behind on tee times. Staff was friendly and did everything they could. They have to space out tee times more when playing nine holes twice. Think twice before booking until they open the full 18 back up.
Used to be great location
Very disappointed in the chopped up version of what used to be a great golf course. Pro shop employees very friendly... explained what has happened ie. Govmt. decisions to block off vast portions of course.... Hadn't played there in many years....sad to see current situation
Construction
I didn’t realize course was under construction. Had to play 1 and 2, then 12-18 twice for the 18. So not what I remembered in the past.
Great value for the money.
Green River is a fun course. The greens are very plush, the fairways are kept up nicely, and the staff is very attentive and helpful.
The layout is very unique, not in a bad way at all. I want to clarify that. But what was lacking was signage to point to the next tee box. I believe they take it for granted that regulars come play. But it was very confusing in more than one instance. You also play 12 holes before returning towards the clubhouse. Keep that in mind if you’re planning on getting a snack or something to drink.(or use the potty)
There were a ton of ball marks on the greens but I played late in the day so those were just from hacks who don’t clean up after themselves.
Other than horrible traffic to get there and battling high winds, it was a perfect day.
practice round
course is in "BAD SHAPE". like off roading with a golf cart.
hot that day, staff was friendly, good place for a practice round.
tee off alone, no waiting, they did have 3-11 or 12 blocked off so you can't play a full 18 holes.
Could be better
The course is just not kept up well, many gopher holes, greens not taken care of and the fairways just are dying. This course needs major renovation if it wants to succeed in the future.
Course was great
The course was great but the carts needed to be charged. My cart ran out of juice after 9 holes (Played 18 holes).
Green River
Course closed from 3-11 due to construction that’s lasted forever!!! Fairways ok, tee boxes and greens ROUGH to say least. No amenities and little guy in pro shop afraid of virus from 299ft away.
Waiting to go back when construction over and virus done.... sad used to be a fun course
Offbeat but fun
Green River has a problem with the construction taking place beyond the railroad bridge. Repeating the front nine is not as satisfying as doing the back nine.. But the reduced rate is a real gift to its fans. The hills, the rough terrain, the long fairways are fun. I'm one of those people who is bothered by the passing trains and the traffic from Route 91. But it's worth the thirty minute drive up from Laguna Hills. We've never been turned down for a tee time on the day we call.. The course was not very busy. Good luck in the future.
