Green River Golf Club
About
The beauty of the Santa Ana Canyons surrounds Green River Golf Club in Corona. The club originally had two 18-hole courses but they have been combined to form one massive, sprawling golf course. Although it is surrounded by hills and valleys, the course itself is mostly flat, making it a good round for high handicappers. The fairways are wide and forgiving, making it even more player friendly for beginners. There are still many challenges in store on this golf course though, including a number of river and creek crossings and strategically placed bunkers. The Santa Ana winds that sweep across the course can often make reaching the greens in regulation quite tough and the abundant trees, while providing a scenic and secluded atmosphere, also add to Green River Golf Club's difficulty.

Average.
The front nine of this course is well laid out, challenging and has a fair amount of character. The back nine unfortunately is terrible. It feels as though the last 8 holes are all in one big bucket. There are constantly balls flying at you from the preceding or following hole. This year with all of the rain the course is in nice shape, the greens run very straight.
Come back in about 3 months
This is an older course and definitely not elite in any way but its very pretty and I've always enjoyed playing there. Unfortunately the rains have really messed up the course and you can currently only play 16 holes. The course website doesnt mention that so I was surprised to find that out when I got there. Greens were very rough on the front 9 and the rough is quite patchy, so I would recommend skipping this course until they have time to repair it.
I have not played this course for a while so it was a nice gauge for how I have improved my game. I have always liked the location, no houses lots of mountain views and wild life., the river.
Not Recommended
Course was in extremely poor condition (e.g. one of the green was covered with sand rather than grass). I left a pair of sunglasses in the cart at the end of the round. When I called in the next day, staff didn't acknowledge finding one. I cannot support a business that hires dishonest employees. Stay away from here, not worth the money.
soso
soso...
short course, windy in afternoon,
It was a good day.
The course qreat shape. The pace was good. We did not wait much at all. It was a good day.
Leaves
There are a lot of leaves on the fairway. it is some how hard to find the ball.
Good for the money
This is a fun average course for the money. Took my grandson. He had a good time. Excellent customer service.
Wind, wind, wind
Wind, wind, wind
We played the course at 3 PM for a great price of $19. The wind was blowing a very hard and on many holes directly into your face or sideways. The course was in good condition and the holes were fairly challenging.

Good Day of golf
This is the first time I've played Green River since the flood. Sorry to see it is now 18 holes and not 36. The course was in very good shape and the greens were excellent. The trees do make it interesting. Which cheese burgers were available. We had a great time and will be back

Good if not stuck with a tournament in front of you.
Course is in good shape, not too hard to play. We booked for 9:04 and started at around 9:40 because they had a senior tournament going on at the time and we are waiting for the last tournament group to tee off.overall good course for intermediate players and we all enjoyed the time.
Green River
Played the Blues (71.6/123/6634) midday in 4H,15M as a 3some with Jim & Brian, excellent guys to play with. Played on their week of B-Day special, $14 cart fee, free green fee. Thanks Green River! The weather was partly cloudy, breezy and around 80.
I like this layout that has five par 5's and five par 3's and a good variety of holes. Very playable for players of all skill levels, not that many forced carries and the fairways are ample wide.
The tees were mediocre. A few were lush and good to very good. However, many were only fair with lots of recent divot repair work.
The fairways were good overall, decent coverage.
The kikuyu rough was not overly tall but was penal. Fairly lush with good coverage.
The sand was fine grain and the traps were mostly nicely maintained.
The smaller sized greens held approach shots well and were consistent from green to green. Medium speed, mostly smooth, occasionally bumpy.
No cart person out today, but the snack shop on the turn was open. Polish Dawg & large soda for $7 was decent. The customer service in the Pro Shop was very good, processed my B-Day coupon and had me on the 1st tee in maybe 5 minutes. Nicely stocked pro shop.
If I lived in the area, this course would be apart of my regular rotation. No holes that made make me go wow!, but no bad holes either. 10 & 16, both playing into the wind were long/tough holes. Finishing with back to back par 5's provides scoring opportunities late in the round. Fun course, Recommended.
Tried Green River Again, Never Again!!
Played here 2 years ago, now they had players play 1-2, 12-18, then play then same thing again. The players took 20 minutes at each hole. There was no marshall to move along slow players. There was work being done on the other holes. I would rather play sanded greens than be blocked out on the back nine. The plan was to play that same route again, but there was six other groups waiting. This was the slowest most un-enjoyable round I ever have played. They got rid of the best holes on the Orange Side. NEVER AGAIN GREEN RIVER!
Great course for me
1. Very close to my house. It takes only 15 minutes.
2. The course is very difficult for senior players.
3. Green condition is very good.
Green river
Slow play. Windy. Fairways fair condition. No beverage cart to be seen.
Good course for the money.
The course is in pretty good shape, not to hard to play,. 4 1/2 hour rounds is expected,. The biggest problem are the greenside bunkers, they need more sand in them as it is like hitting off of hard pan or dirt carr paths. Other than that the course is pretty good bang for the buck.
Green River
Played in the GK Plays with Osamabinhackin, Chevelle & Wangster. Thanks to all for a fun round! Our group played the Blues (71.6/123/6634) in 5H, slow round but it was spaced out Okay, we did not wait long on any particular hole other than #13 when a 2some appeared out of no where in front of us?
First time I had played here in over 20 years, so the 1st time I had played the current condensed 18 hole layout. I thought the layout was VERY playable for players of all skill levels. I especially liked the five par 5's and five par 3's & a really good variety of holes overall.
The tees were Okay but several (mostly par 3's) needed divot repair.
The fairways were nice, good coverage, I had good lies anytime I found the fairway.
The kikuyu rough was not overly tall but was penal. The combination of rough & leaves made finding balls in the rough tough, which contributed to a slower POP. Hard to get solid contact on even middle irons most of the time.
I was only in one trap and it was nicely maintained.
The smaller sized greens held approach shots well and were consistent from green to green. Medium speed, mostly smooth, occasionally bumpy, I didn't make many putts but had a good lag putting day.
We saw the cart gal several times and the customer service from the Pro Shop to the Restaurant was very good. I had nacho's & a diet coke after the round, about average in both price/quality for a golf course. Nicely stocked pro shop. If I lived in the area, this course would be apart of my regular rotation. Long enough to be a test and I liked the layout. No holes that made me go wow!, but no bad holes either. 10 & 16, both playing into the wind were long/tough holes. Finishing with back to back par 5's provides scoring opportunities late in the round. Both the layout and the conditions were above average IMO. Fun experience, Recommended.
Trash dump
For being a avid golfer and pretty much will play anywhere anytime I was finally excited to play green river as I have passed it a ton of times driving the 91. Well finally got the chance and from the moment I opened the car door to the putrid smell of porta potties and the broken down golf carts I was starting to think to myself I have played worse so I thought. After a decent warm up on the range we headed to the first tee where the starter who was very polite started to explain a few things then while a group of us were standing there he asked how many in our group I said two he said ok we will add one to it then you will follow this group of five. I asked serious but did not want to start anything since it was Sunday and we were off to golf. While standing there waiting for ten minutes for this group of five to tee off ten shots nothing like allowing that breakfast ball. We waiting well we happen to start to notice there were some very aggressive flies but with it smelling like a toilet we just hoped as we took off it was a rare spot at the top of the course. Finally our turn to tee off we head out as we wait for the super duffers to work there way off the first hole I find myself swatting at flies like there was something dead around me or something for three more holes the flies were insane and I have reached a point of anger because I could not once take a swing without feeling like I was a landing ground for flies. I even got down to check the cart and everything to the point I asked the gentlemen who was paired with us and he agreed they were out of control. The day rolled on and every hold had some sort of trash floating around the course the pace was so slow I could finally see the groups ahead of the group of five disappear so finally they stopped for food and we passed them on 12 well the four hours to play 12 and the last holes only take a hour just proved how bad pace of play was. The fly trap of a course officially took over as the worst course I have played ever and that was a hard target to hit. I would not suggest this course to anyone and officially have marked it off as completed to never be played again.
Great Deal, well groomed.
This is a fun course. I like all the par 5's. The pace was a bit slow, it took over 4 hours.
